Just to add to this point, last year United drew 6 matches, and we drew 11.
They lost 4, we lost 2. Once we turn some of those draws into wins, there's lots of room for occasional losses...

We'll be ok. Who knows if we'll win the league, but there's no shame in losing at the bridge, especially when defensive error is to blame...

We've missed Agger and of course Alonso/Aquilani but we're still in the same place the mancs were last year. And riddle me this. Why did the mancs win the league last year? Was it the games against the top 4 or 5 teams that won it for them? NO.
It was the way they went out and bashed up the dross. They took almost maximum points off the bottom half of the table and that was enough. We can lose another 5 games and STILL get 90 points. Dont get hung up on this arbitrary number of defeats a team is or isnt allowed. We MUST continue to smash the weaker teams and lets be honest 4-0, 3-2, 4-0, 3-2, 6-1 would intimate to me he intends to do just that. Has he rotated Torres and Gerrard vs the dross? No, he's on a mission and i GENUINELY think he realises that we can win this by putting 2/3 of the premiership to the sword, and that if we do that, what happens vs the other 3rd is irrelevant.
We're going to lose more games the way we now play, but we are going to win A LOT more too. And that will win us the league.

Well, we'll get apoplectic then regardless (if it happens), so let's try to ride a bit of optimism until then, shall we? I shudder to think of the blood pressure readings of some people on here.

(The same people who are writing the season off already will be shouting from the rooftops that we're dead on for the title if we beat United. Or saying we won it inspite of Rafa/Lucas. Even if Lucas scores the winner with a screamer after being subbed on by Rafa.)

i think we've got a good chance of winning it, nothing more, nothing less.

i don't see utd making it 4 in a row, i just don't.

arsenal and city aren't ready.

that leaves chelsea, and they do look strong, but i'm convinced they're not as good as people are making out. and they still have the african nations cup to get through, which i think is significant.

i think, personally, we've had a decent start. we've got a great GD, and the chelsea game could've gone either way, it was as tight as the old games vs mourinho. if torres had scored with that header i think we'd have won it.

no need to panic - although we need one hell of an effort given our fixtures this month to make sure we're still in it in november.

got to laugh, I said ages ago i'd take top 3 because I knew how competitive was

that said we're only 6 points behind the leaders and if we assume it's going to be ultra competitive and everyone takes points off each other then we're not out of contention, no way near.
