Very much true.

We'll need a heavy dose of luck to get 4th but it's still there. It's not like letting in 3 goals in the first half of a final, is it?
Except we don't have the strikeforce to score 3 this time.. [emoji8]

I admire your optimismn.. However we are playing Just as shite as them and we have a small issue of Chelsea to deal with..

Not going to happen..

It kind of goes without saying but I would LOVE to smash the chavs. It would give a nice (small) shine on the season.

The only glimmer of hope.. is that they may be on the beach given they have won the title already..

Only though if Man UTD lose to Crystal Palace on Saturday first will the game be worth fighting for..

Omg look what you have done now.. Hope has reared its ugly head..

*exits thread quickly as it is only going to end in disappointment*

Don't worry - It's not going to happen...................................

John Carver is in danger of eclipsing Nigel Pearson for tube-like behaviour. His post match interview was awful - 'I wish my players had the fight that I have'. He's the fecking manager, they've been shambolic in every sense since he took over, and all he can manage to do is excuse himself because he's got 'fight'. In a way he's the perfect Newcastle manager - like the fans, he's utterly delusional whilst patting himself on the back for his 'passion' and 'fight'. I'm surprised he didn't leave the ground at half time, like 'the best fans in the world' often do.

Utd seem to be doing their absolute best to fuck up their Champions League qualification, if we hadnt been abjectly shite since the City game we would easily have over taken them. That said its not as intimidating going into next season knowing that they arent really that good

I think I said a while back that we needed to get to about 72 points to secure top 4.

Utd are away to Crystal Palace, who probably need 1 more point to be absolutely sure, Arsenal at home who can secure 3rd by avoiding defeat and Hull away who may well need a win in the final game to avoid relegation.

Hopefully we have Chelsea away, who are in party mode having just won the league (uugghhhh), Palace at home who have just secured that point and a Stoke already on the beach.

4th is possible, but not probable.

It's the hope that kills you in the end...

We only needed to get a draw against United because the momentum was with us......we fucked up.

StevieG fucked up big time.

We needed to play ugly and get a draw at Anfield. This is not too different from how we needed to play ugly and ensure a draw against Chelsea last season.

Chelea 1-0 up vs Palace and looking like getting those 3 points that will secure them the league title.

Hazard should get a Oscar for that dive though. Awful. Misses the penalty but heads home the rebound.

I agree, all the commentators saying definite penalty but I think it was a dive, the defender pulled his leg away

Yeah, you can see why the ref gives it. But with all the replays you get it looks like Hazard knows what he's doing and McArthur is pulling out of the tackle. Dodgy in my eyes.

I'm listening to the radio commentary of Tottenham-v-City and David Pleat's wreaking his usual havoc with players' names. So far we've had Fernanindo and - more than once - Bentelab.

Edit: City 1-0 ahead. Aguero.
