Liverpool Complete £12.5m Deal to Sign French International Loic Remy?

Former Arsenal target Loic Remy appears set to sign for Liverpool after the Reds had reached an agreement with French side Nice for his transfer fee, according to online reports.

The French striker has long been compared to Thierry Henry and the 23 year old is excited about joining the Merseysiders. Pending medical tests; a fee of £12.5m has been agreed upon.

Liverpool it now seems have beaten both Spurs and the Hammers whose directors flew to France earlier for the purpose of landing Remy, but the player has made his choice and it was not in favour of either of the London clubs.

“Liverpool is a legendary club,†said Remy talking to Nice Matin. “I am very excited by the thought of playing there. It has a magnificent stadium and a fantastic public.â€

really............. it'd be nice to spend money on a player

Is it not slightly worrying that he doesn't even have his own Youtube compliation, rather just lots of videos of people scoring goals with him on FIFA or PES?

I mean, I'm not quite sure what the exact equation would be to work out the ratio of (PES x Youtube) scouting : actual ability, you'd probably have to ask Dantes, but I'm betting it's not good

it appears to be Liverpool is the new London for some players

weird...

i'm going on the statistics. 1 in 3 for a striker is not overwhelming, but when you play with some absolute dross and dirge and rely on them to set you up as a striker, its not THAT bad of a strike rate

Well saha was always brilliant, just injury prone. If he turns out half as good as saha, its near enough what i expect from our transfers in recent years!

Just wondering if Roy would consider David James as back up to Pepe now that Pompey have withdrawn a contract offer. He should be available on the cheap or even free. Not a bad option to have on the bench at all.

David James wouldn't join us to sit on the bench all season!

L'equipe now reporting we wont offer more than 12m euros, player is anxious for the deal to go through.

That would be the Remy deal?

We're linked with Reto Ziegler now, for 6 mill £. He's done fantasticly well in Serie A is regarded as one of the most exciting left backs in football at the moment. I'm not convinced though, but it's 6 years since he was at Spurs and he's a totally different player now.

Got the pace though.

He'd better be totally different if we sign him. He was utter sh!te at Tottenham.

And 18 years of age.....to be honest I can't even remember him nor have I paid much attention to him of late

It seems like we are in quite a strong position with this, with the player wanting a move to us, we could probably do a deal at £11m, I still don't know how good he is mind

regards

Some other sites claim that we are about to go after Warnock. Rumour is that he has fallen out with MON.

Liverpool demand £6m for N'Gog

Liverpool want £6 million for French fringe striker David N'Gog as they try to raise funds for new players.

N'Gog can go at the right price - quoted to several clubs in the Premier League and round Europe - although he may have to play in the Europa League qualifiers before going.

The Kop squad man is wanted by West Brom on loan, while Newcastle and Bolton have made inquiries about his availability - but the valuation is way too high.

Liverpool are still hopeful of a big pay day on N'Gog, with Nice's Loic Remy on their hit list but valued at around £14.3 million.

£6m for Eggnog?

Dear Christ.

Still, if we get some cash in for him, Lucas, Riera and a few of the others, we may eb able to scarpe together enough money to buy a LB and a striker.

But we all know where the biggest potential pot of cash is*: Mascherano.

*Apart from Torres

Indeed. Still, clearing out the dead wood is providing a welcome trickle of additional cash and, when combined with the Masher money, could well make the difference when it comes to signing quality replacements.

Apperantly Huntelaar is in England, landed at Manchester airport. According to Talksport he's here for talks with City or Utd.

Someone on RAWK are saying he's staying at the Marriott.

Anyone heard anything about this?
