This ball.

I'd love to see some data on the ball comparing its aerodynamics to prior balls.

Actually, no I wouldn't, because I don't think there'd be anything to report.

It's fucking shite. It's ruining the world cup.

Agreed.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not?

I was surprised to read an article in which a lot of the top players were slagging it off. Is it that bad? I saw people actually tried to pass it off as the ball's fault and not Green's. I haven't seen it move erratically at all, nor does it seem to be too light, too heavy, too square... etc etc.

This argument is always brought up. A ball is a ball usually. Unless it's one of those flyaway things. That shit would cause mayhem!

If you are used to playing with one thing, and then it changes, it may well affect your performance. Everyone seems to be struggling with it, apart from the Germans who have been using this ball all season in the Bundesliga.
A professional golfer would tell you changingfrom Titliest to Nike balls would ruin his game. As would any fast bowler who was getting thrashed around the park when they introduced the White ball in cricket.

Fact.

I like Aberloa's response when asked about how he found the new ball.

"It's round like usual"

I'd say the booboozombies are ruining it worse than the ball.

Yeh I suppose that's true, I just don't think it's shit and horrendous like some players are saying. How could it be? It's not swerving all over the place, I haven't seen it held accountable for any goals or mistakes. I've not even noticed anyone miskicking it or anything. I think it's all a debate over largely nothing.

It might be slightly different but nothing monumental.

BUT IT IS ROUNDER THAN EVER!.!!1 and it has got dimples on it.
I don't know what the difference is, but the German league used it all season. Look at some of their reports on it, it took them months to get to grips with its' flight and the way it comes off the boot. Crazy.

Looking for actual research on the subject, it appears to be slightly faster, and slightly more accurate, i.e. it's actually more predictable.

These are all incremental things though.

The majority of this is observer error, rumour, advertising, sponsorships, and the like.

Didn't know they used it in their league. Interesting. I suppose it could be slightly lighter or whatever, I just don't see any noticeable difference really. Hmm.

Every fucking shot hit from outside the box has sailed over the bar. The majority of corners have been spectacularly overhit. I don't see the movement to clear Green or the Algeria keeper, butthere seems to be a lot of shitness in front of goal. I am sure other tourneys have started with more of a BANG.

Haha haven't really noticed that to be honest. As I type this M'bia smacks the crossbar from 30 yards. We'll see if the ball gets the Ronaldo seal of approval tomorrow anyway.

Every other tournament has started with more goals in the first eleven games according to the boys on RTE.

Yeah I heard that too. That's not necessarily down to the ball, though. Could be like.

If Ronaldo hits the majority of his free kicks either:

a) into the wall
b) into orbit

then we know the ball is no different to any other

It's a blowaway. I've played with it, it's stupidly bouncy.
The best players in the world can't keep it below the crossbar. It can't be a coincidence that no one is scoring from range.
I'm really not keen on it.

The bounce off the surface is phenomenal, but I put that down to different turf/grass in the southern hemisphere. They have used grass seed instead of the Sand based turf we see here in the UK.

I bet Giggs wouldn't have a problem with it.

[/quote]Yeah but giggs could keep a beachball off you in a phonebox. He's a phenom.

I did think there was a load of fuss about nothing at first but I've seen about 8 games now and I think the ball is a problem.

See Adidas are blaming altitude for the flight, not the ball. Well maybe they should have designed a ball that flies in this altitude, seeing as though the altitude can't be changed.

Is this an altitude thing?

Balls behave different at different heights.

Mine are always sweaty.

It is a problem gene. It's like ping pong. There's no weight to the ball and it's too bouncy. It's a joke that this ball is being used.

Bullshit, when I kick a ball up into the air it slows down.
