Theo Walcott?

Actually I would quite like a player who could "come on as a sub, and score against tired, shit teams".

Certainly would have been good to have one last season

Yes, but would you spend 20m on him? If that 20m could be spent on a player that could start a game and score against shit teams. For 10m? yes. 20m? no, we could invest the money better elsewhere.

No. I wouldnt spend 20m on him. But that wasnt the point. I was just referring to how Ryan described him.

Better than what we have, but not a great footballer. He be ok, and nothing more. I wouldn't pay more than 8 for him, and I'd be very reluctant to pay that as I'd rather spend it on an unproven youngster than buy a one dimensional player with such limited intelligence.

I really hope we can do better.

Incidentally, is he for sale and where did the 20M price tag come from?

If the media are to be believed he's bessie mates with RVP and shares his doubts about the direction in which the Arse are going as a club. Whether that will mean he becomes available or not remains to be seen.

My Arsenal supporting mate told me Walcott wants a new contract with ridiculous wages

doesn't he have only a year left on his contract, if so nobody will pay more than £12 million anyway just as Van Persie will cost no more than £20 million tops maybe less.

Being a year from going for nothing should make a good deal.

I would prefer Adam Johnson on our right wing but if not, Theo will do, whe have not had a decent right winger since Macca anyway so what do we have to lose.

Nasri cost City £23M with a year on his contract, Van Persie could get more.

There have been also media suggestions to precisely that effect.
Mark mc suggested earlier that we might be in for him. He has also repeatedly confessed to being a big Liverpool fan. If we're in for him, I would believe he'd probably choose us over Spurs.

On the subject of whether we should sign him, I'm in two minds. He's improved as a player over the last season or two, and isn't as much of a one-trick pony as he used to be. That said, I worry about his injury record, and the fact that he's been around for a pretty long time, and yet not blossomed into the world-class player he was meant to be. At about 10-12 million, we could do a lot worse, but possibly a lot better too.

Yes, he's a Liverpool fan, his mother is from Liverpool.
Yes, he's a one-trick pony
No, don't want him.

Coming late to this thread so no doubt it's been covered.

However, fuck that.

He's fast. Whoop De doo. Extremely limited footballer with that swp level of hype which is equally undeserving.

I'd be amazed & disappointed in equal measure should Rodgers get him.

I disagree. His stats from the last two season also shows something else than an average footballer.

At 23 its a bit early to start with the lose his pace. Bellamy is what, 33' and still fast as fuck despite injuryhell.
