The January transfer window

They've apparantly offered Rooney a new contract worth 300k pr week.
That is just awful

The squad is still mega thin and we've now got a few injuries, if Ayre and the owners dont get a couple of players in then they're mental. We might not get another chance like this season to get in the champions league any time soon. We'd be better off spending 30mill this window and fuck all in the summer.
We have got to secure top 4 this season from where we are, else this season must surely be judged as a failure.

Couldn't agree more, like i said it wouldn't make any sense, we would basically be waving a white flag, this is the most important January window this club has ever had, to do nothing would be incompetence of the highest level.

Like you say get 30 mill out now and spend it and we go a bit light in the summer if needs be.

The only transfer I'll be worried about with ManUtd is if they change the manager to someone good.

If they spend 70m + (there might be others yet) on top premiership talent this window and we spend nothing, the Moyes effect might not be enough to prevent them sneaking 4th.

That would be a fucking disaster.

@TonyEvansTimes: Next TV deal in 2016 will be mega. We'll see first £1m a week player by end of 2017, I reckon

BT sport are gonna go in all guns blazing for the premiership, so it will be obscene.

This should probably be a separate thread though.

Rooney is good, but 300k a week is mental.

Still, if they can afford to pay it then it doesn't really matter.

At the beginning of his stint, he was fine. Kinda deserved his sacking towards the end, no?

But it was at the beginning of his stint that Moyes' Everton finished above us.

Anyways, the point (before this becomes even more silly) is that whilst the Moyes / Utd jokes have been good fun up until now, they're not quite as useless as they're being made out to be.

@Liddellpool: #rumour #LFC are planning an ambitious bid to bring Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri to Anfield

Daily Mail is leading with Utd going after Kroos.

I think I also saw some depressing story about Rodgers going after Salah (on loan presumably) even if Chelsea do sign him.
