The January transfer window

We were going for him in the Summer when Spartak are more likely to sell, but Lucas' injury and losing out to Salah (freeing up money) has lead to us making an enquiry now.

I can't believe how few links there are to any Premier league team regarding Danny Ings, I remain 100% convinced he'll move in this transfer window and forlornly hope it's to us. Our priority remains a CM'er but I hope we have enough in the kitty (if we have anything in the kitty at all) for a DM'er & Ings.

We hardly ever seem to pick up strikers for lower league teams these days like we did with the likes of Keegan and Rush. It's really odd as there has to be talent out there.

In fairness most teams fish in the lower league talent pool a lot less than they used to but the talent is still there, it's such a waste.

Reports in Germany say that Toni Kroos is stalling on a new contract at Bayern.

We should be all over this ... tap him up, tell him we want him to lead our midfield for the next decade. The kid is a phenomenal talent.

Transfer News: Crystal Palace in talks with Momo Sissoko

Crystal Palace are in talks with free agent Momo Sissoko, Sky Sports understands.
The Malian midfielder has been without a club since the summer when he left Paris Saint Germain, but Sky Sports understands that Sissoko is currently in London holding talks with Palace.
Sissoko, who has just turned 29, spent the latter part of last season on loan at Fiorentina, and has been linked with moves across the world, from Europe to the Middle East.
But a move back to England, where he was a big success with Liverpool and enjoyed three years before joining Juventus for £10million in 2008, is now on the cards.
Tony Pulis tried to sign Sissoko during his time with Stoke City, but is now hoping he can persuade him to bolster his relegation battle at Palace.

This has been a very disappointing window for us so far. We are clearly in need of reinforcements and it's not looking like we have done enough to get them in.

The other thread going on about no Suarez activity only serves to remind me that lack of action on other fronts will lead to action on his.

Hope we can push on for 4th and give ourselves a fighting chance in the summer.

I wouldn't mind getting Craig Noone if he came on the cheap as a short term move to give the squad a few more options. He's quick, fairly versatile and he'd bust a gut to play for the club and wouldn't kick up if left on the bench. I say this obviously in the light of our apparent inability to land any truly outstanding players ready to be regulars in the team. I know there's a policy to concentrate on young, long-term up-and-coming stars, but we really need reinforcements now and it's getting desperate.

I dont know this desperation comes out because other clubs are signing loads and we none OR we are truly incapable of signing anyone. I am just hoping that it will be similar as like the last two windows when we couldnt get Dempsey but then in next window we got Cou and Studge. So if we fail to get someone in this window, I hope we will do the same when summer window comes. But before that we must finish top 4

From my point of view, it's desperation because we have a genuine shot of getting back into the top four, getting into the European Cup, being able to better attract the majority of top class footballers, which would obviously be a major boost for the club. We could still get into the top four without any signings, but we have a thin squad and problem areas which don't seem to be getting any better. Signing a couple of players might make a massive difference.

Dont think we'll sign anyone now. Shame as we obviously got the 8 mill for Salah. We should use that and buy M'Vila but we probably wont.

Shame, cause we'll regret it imho.

Yeah its odd. I'd be opposed to spending money for the sake of it any other year but one or two players might give us that push to sustain our push for our top four finish. I wouldn't be fretting if signing someone meant taking us from 8th to 6th but we are 4th and badly need a top 4 finish. I just hope that the players that currently got us to our current position can keep us there.

United look to be getting Mata? Are Everton getting Traore? Spurs haven't made a move but have a bigger squad. I just hope Suarez and Sturridge can win us the games we need to to finish top four, starting Tuesday.
