The England Job

Has Hoddle ever retracted his statement about handicapped people being born handicapped as a punishment for something they did in a previous life?

I guess with rednapp in charge at least we'd play attacking football. we'd get raped on the counter attack and crushed when under the cosh but at least we'd be entertaining which is more than we were under crapello. we were crap AND boring.

So giving it to the best manager weve had in two decades is a bad idea but giving it to a man whos won one fa cup in a 30 year career is the way forward.
I dont really give a fuck to be honest. Theyll still play Gerrard on the left and Rooney on his own and fuck it up.

Redknapp has been at Bournmouth, West Ham, Pompey, Southampton and Tottenham. That is probably why he hasnt won more thropies.

I dont really care either, and also because of the examples you posted. But Redknapp tries to play decent football, is very good at man management and has a good relationship with the media. He is also respected by most of the players that are in the current set up.

Ticking those boxes means that he'll probably do a good job. Hodgson is wrong for so many reasons and so is Pearce.
Hoddle is a decent shout, but he hasnt managed in 6 years and the FA wont approach him.

It should be an English manager. The best choice is Redknapp.

Now, this is what I dont understand with you lot. You played some boring football at times. But these are his stats:

42 games - 28 wins - 8 draws - 6 losses. Win percentage 66.67%
That is not crap....

Its actually the best stat ever for an England manager

Expectations are very high for an England manager though. They did win a World Cup you know.

Regardless of how the season turns out, Harry has done a good job?

I love how people judge things on here

high expectations? I just expect england to be competent during the actual tournament rather than putting in convincing performances in the qualifiers and then going to pieces during the euro/world cup

Oh fuck off Ross. He's taken a Spurs side that was in the relegation zone to a quarter final in the CL. This season they were title challengers but are now fighting for a 4th spot that will get them into the CL again.

Regardless of their title challenge going to fuck the season has been good. A title challenge was overachieving as hell.
Agree? Has he had a good season if they finish 4th? Regardless if their unexpected title challenge didnt last? Can you see it now? Eh??

The job he's done at Spurs is good. I dont think anybody can deny that.

Has to be Redknapp

Though Pardew is proving to be a good coach, doubt he will be able to handle the ego's like Harry can

I think Rosco once perfectly summed up Harry, he's brilliant at drawing out all of the resources at a club to get them playing better than they should be for the immediate, however almost everytime it's to there detrement in the long run. This is exactly what England need, someone to come in and get them playing well now, and to be honest, as filthy rich as the FA are, I doubt Harry could really fuck them up that much.

I can.

He's done fuck all but waste loads of the clubs money on shite players. The current "success" they're having is directly attributable to people who worked at the club previously, since it's based on players signed by them. Most of the players Harry signed don't play in the first team anymore, and he sold some players who would easily be in that side now.

Relegation was a false position, everyone knew that. Harry has achieved pretty much exactly what the squad should have. So well done to him for that.

That and the tactical genius that moved Bale from the wing to the middle and fucked up the very thing that made them tough to play against, hence this superb run they're on now.

Look lets be honest here, whomever the manager is, we will lose to the French, draw the second game then need a win to progress, play well in the third game and win but in that game a player of (any) note will be injured/suspended and we will get a fucking hoopin in the quarter finals with the excuse about player (A) missing costing us and potentially some shit decision that goes against every team in every game ever being drudged up for the next two years.
Why? Because we are the 7 or 8th best team in Europe and Sir Alex Paisley Clough couldnt fucking make those impotent preening millionare twats win a fucking card game against a team of blind mongoloid children.

tbf I don't think I've ever come across an England fan who wasn't grimly realistic about our chances in a major tournament. Unless I've happily missed out a whole section of society the whole circus of arrogance and bitter disappointment seems like a complete myth whipped up by the usual idiots in the media.

I think england fans expect to at least reach the quarter final stage.

One of my mates just called me with spares for all Spain's group games in Gdansk. They play Italy, Croatia and Ireland. He's sorted all the travel and everything too.

Fuck England, that sounds like a laugh.

Yeh fuck England. You'll have a better laugh doing that. Watch out for those Poles though

I been Gdansk before... and while it might be a big industrial shithole port, just up the road is Sopot and it has a beach and they have raves and stuff on it. OK, the Polish summers aren't famous but that place was so nice the Nazi's used it as their high command base type place in the north and commandeered the Grand Hotel and all the surrounding mansions for their top brass. Now the Nazis rightly got some bad press - but you can't fault them for elegance.
