I think a lot of what Dr. Rule says is right, although Brendan having a face like a cunt? It may well be correct, but I always imagine Bren to be quite rakish in appearance.

I too, would take some issue with the Johnson idea.

I think he is a great player and has had some sparkling games, earlier in the season, he is clearly superior to Arbeloa going forward and at least his equal defensively, (that may not say a lot for his defensive abilities), having said that he has been somewhat disrupted by injuries and who has , or has not been playing in front of him. Dirk, for plenty of that time , and when Dirk is playing like Dirk and not MVB, it must be difficult.
Rafa must accept the lions share of our main problems, lack of back-up for Torres, Xabi's replacement still not having a full game, the paper thin squad, continually playing Lucas,

I really don't care if he scored in a milk cup that we aren't even in anymore, I care about the league. Also Johnson is able to beat a man and deliver a quality cross (both of which he did last night even though he was nowhere near match fit), the best Insua manages is 1 good cross in 10 attempts.

So in your opinion two goals and one assist is a good return for 17million pounds?? Yet Insua shouldn't be in the team despite more assists??

And in your opinion, this 17million rightback has significantly improved the team since his arrival?? We are better this season with him than we were last season with Arbeloa?? That's what you're saying.
 
What you characterise as boring defensive dross, may indeed at times have been boring and defensive, but it certainly wasn't dross. Any one of those previous teams of ours would still be in the CL and wouldn't have conceded the rubbish that we have this season.

I'd love if we were capable of putting some 1-0s together, and closing a game defensively. Our weakness is primarily defensive this season as far as I'm concerned, so I find it a bit ironic complaining about the manner in which previous teams won.
