I don't like Spurs at all, I hope we fucking bum them.

I was watching a little of that Asia Cup thingy in Beijing with Hull and Spurs; I was thinking these 2 bastard teams cost us 6 points.

Wish they'd both go down.

i thought riera was injured? he seemed fit enough last night.
Just been checking dates, and I have a feeling he was left out of the Atletico match because he was still upset about Daniel Jarque's death. They were team-mates at Espanyol, and Riera dedicated last night's goal to him.

Good thinking.

----------------------Reina
-Glenjo---Carragher---Skrtel---Insua
---------------Masher---Lucas
--------Kuyt--------Gerrard------Riera
---------------------Torres

But I'd be happy with:

---Benayoun----Gerrard---Mascherano---Riera----
--------------------Kuyt-----Torres

Gomez
Hutton Bassong Corluka Assou-Ekotto
Lennon Palacios Jenas Modric
Keane Defoe
I think they will start with Naughton at RB and Robinson in GK. Gomes and Hutton were both playing with the Spurs reserves during pre season (I saw them play in the spurs XI against aldershot) so have maybe fallen out of favour with Redders?

Also, I think Jamie O'Hara will probably start ahead of Palacios

--------------Robinson
Naughton---King---Bassong---Bale/Assou-Ekotto
Lennon----O'Hara--Jenas---Modric (do they not have a left winger?)
-----------Keane----------------------------
---------------------Defoe

ok, looks like i've called the Ohara start incorrectly. And there are some spurs fans here not wanting to see keane and defoe starting together.

You've also called the Robinson start incorrectly as we're playing against Spurs and not Blackburn.

The same Robinson who now plays for Blackburn and has done for a season?

I really hope Bale's fit for Spurs.

Good ole lucky Bale. The opposition's talisman.

CARRA, SKRTEL AND STEVIE INJURY UPDATE
Jimmy Rice at Melwood 13 August 2009
Rafa Benitez is hopeful of having centre-back pair Jamie Carragher and Martin Skrtel fit for the Barclays Premier League opener on Sunday - though Steven Gerrard faces a race against time to face Tottenham.
Carragher limped off following a knock to the ankle during Liverpool's last pre-season friendly with Atletico Madrid, while Skrtel has been suffering from a hamstring injury.

News of their improvement comes as a major boost to Benitez, who is likely to be without the injured Daniel Agger this weekend.

The boss told his pre-match press conference: "Skrtel trained yesterday and hopefully he'll be fit. Carragher has been working with the physios today and we think he'll be available. Agger is also working with the physios but it will be more difficult for him."

Gerrard pulled out of England's friendly international with Holland this week due to a tight groin.

Benitez added: "I am really pleased because Mr Capello wanted to protect players. Because Gerrard had a problem they did a scan and pulled him out of the squad. We don't know if he'll be fit. He was working with the physios yesterday and today.

"If the game would have been on Saturday it would be difficult but because it's on Sunday he could have a chance."

Squad for Sunday

Reina, Johnson, Insua, Carragher, Skrtel, Ayala, Benayoun, Lucas, Gerrard, Mascherano, Riera, Kuyt, Torres, Babel, Cavalieri, Degen, Dossena, Ngog, Plessis, Voronin, San Jose.

Agger missing again if you take out our first 11/12 our squad is very weak it doesn't fill you with confidence to sustain a challenge, we need a few more additions Rafa.

I'm not sure it would have worked with only Mascher behind him though.

im not sure either. but even though lucas played well by his standards he still managed to achieve nothing of note so that is just a dead end street whichever way you look at it from

Not if you're looking at it from 'the end' of the street, then it would like like an open street leading into other streets.
