Summer transfer links

We are being linked with Max Meyer by the Mirror today, he has rejected his contract, doesnt look like anything of substance, seems to be the usual case of German player linked because we have a German manager.

Plays as a number 6 now so he could be of interest

I like him as a playmaker very much, he reminds me of those German creative midfielders of yesteryear that we’re so efficient at moving the ball and made the right decision every time. If only he was not so short or potentially partnered by another hobbit in Keita...

With out wanting to create a new thread, my wish would be to sign;

Alisson (GK) £60m
Stefan de Vrij (CB) Free
Kieta (CM) £55m
Ruben Neves (DLP/DM) (£40m)
Nabil Fekir (AM) (£70m)

Total Spend £225m

Sell:
Ward
Studge
Origi
Ings
Ming
Lazar
Moreno
Henderson (commercially too valuable to be a squad player)
Allan Rodrigues de Souza
We should recoup around at least £150m in sales

You're leaving us very short on strikers.

I like the list but there are some discrepancies, and I have no issues at all with the inbound players (all are excellent or better!) :
  1. We need a new striker to replace Sturridge anyway and then also letting go of Origi and Ings ? That's far too many. An injury to Firmino leaves us with Solanke ! Ings needs to stay and if he gets a good pre-season then next season is his big chance, sink or swim. Werner to replace Studge & Origi. If Keita is already accounted for then signing Werner won't change your total.
  2. We need a 3rd GK and Ward is playing really well for the U23s. Unless Grabara is ready then Ward stays (though he may have other ideas if Alisson comes in).
  3. de Souza is also supposedly playing really well and we are short of quality midfielders. If he's as good as they say and can soon qualify it seems churlish to ditch a youngster like him before even seeing him in the team/squad.
  4. We can't ditch Moreno unless we bring in a replacement.
  5. Hendo shouldn't/won't be sold. We are already losing Can (see point 7 below).
  6. We need another wide forward.
  7. Our squad is already the smallest of the Top 6, with (hopefully) CL again and one hopes a run at the title we are going to need to expand the squad not shrink it further !

Yes

I’m not at all certain about Karius, so GK
Also another CB to partner Big Virg.
DM also, even with Keita coming, we are probably losing Can, Henderson isn’t reliable enough and Milner isn’t getting any younger
And yes, a fucking good striker.

That’s 4 top quality, probably expensive players

And maybe even another wide attacker? I know Ox can maybe play wide, but if Salah or Mane get injured, we look short.

If we get those players and recruit well, we’d be in very, very good shape

If Keita is already accounted for then signing Werner won't change your total. Nabil Fakir could easily be moved up front. A player like Werner would want 1st team football, and he just wouldn't get the games he feels he deserves.
  2. We need a 3rd GK and Ward is playing really well for the U23s. Unless Grabara is ready then Ward stays (though he may have other ideas if Alisson comes in). We Got Bogdan. Ward is not happy playing 3rd fiddle (already)
  3. de Souza is also supposedly playing really well and we are short of quality midfielders. If he's as good as they say and can soon qualify it seems churlish to ditch a youngster like him before even seeing him in the team/squad. Will he even get a visa?
  4. We can't ditch Moreno unless we bring in a replacement. We have Milner
  5. Hendo shouldn't/won't be sold. We are already losing Can (see point 6 below). But on the list I got Ruben as replacement. The problem with keeping Hendo he isn't going to be happy being a bench warmer, and plus he would go for a decent fee
  6. We need another wide forward. Nabil,Milner and Ox can all play wide roles
  7. Our squad is already the smallest of the Top 6, with (hopefully) CL again and one hopes a run at the title we are going to need to expand the squad not shrink it further ! If we are filling it with quality, it's not going to be cheap.
No one should freak out with what I am saying, I can assure you I hold no sway with Klopp.

Liverpool make Jorginho approach

Liverpool have made an approach to sign Napoli midfielder Jorginho as a possible replacement for Emre Can, claims UOL Esporte.
With Germany international Can tipped to join Juventus on a free transfer in the summer, Liverpool are looking at midfield options, with Jorginho a leading candidate.
Jorginho, who has also been linked with Manchester United, is considering whether it is time for a new challenge and is the latest Brazil-born star to be targeted by Liverpool after Roma goalkeeper Alisson.

More than likely bull!

We usually get a good profit from sales to Barcelona so you can bet the lizards will just love to sign anyone who dreams about playing for those cunts

So, the first time I saw Lemina play for Soton, it was obvious. And apparently it's happening.
We have no shame.
Our 'A' level French is a little rusty but yesterday's L'Equipe headline is still easy enough to decipher.
"Liverpool aime Mario Lemina (Southampton)" is the banner head - "Liverpool loves Mario Lemina" with the accompanying report suggesting that Arsenal - who tracked the Southampton midfielder in the summer - have now dropped their interest in the 24-year-old.
The leading French sports newspaper then goes on to say that Jurgen Klopp is now the front-runner to secure a player he wants to partner alongside the incoming Naby Keita.
Lemina moved from Marseille to Juventus in 2015, where he spent two seasons, helping the Italians win the domestic double each time.
Southampton snapped him up for £15.4m last August.
L'Equipe's interest in a Gabonese midfielder who started his career in France is understandable. Less so is their insight into Jurgen Klopp's transfer strategy.

I'm sure Southampton love us.
They have no aspiration to win anything. Just stay in the league. And we help them do that and get rich.

It's annoying, because lemina is boss

Shame we couldn't get him from juve and take a punt like we did with coutinho
