Suarez crying

I can't remember a senior player especially a foreign one sobbing as badly as Luis was last night, he has to really really care. He's not been at his best lately but the effort he puts into every game is incredible, he literally is running himself into the ground. The most committed player I think I have ever seen. I just hope the disconsolance is not a sign he is off.

I think Suarez needs to be protected from himself. His commitment means he will literally run himself into the ground every game, and doing that for 90 minutes repeatedly over the course of a season is clearly not good for him. He's a shadow of the player he was earlier on in the season. Another good striker is a must this summer, so we can take a bit of pressure off him and better preserve his fitness for the run-in.

The poor cunt needs a rest. The end of the season can't come soon enough for him. I've never seen him look as bolloxed as he did last night. But yet he never stopped. Ok he was well off form, but the effort he puts in every game is phenomenal.

I could be wrong, but I'm really hoping those tears can be seen as a form of commitment to LFC.

He nearly killed himself running back to the centre of defence to get goal-side of a Palace player in acres of space waiting for the cross which never came. That happened when we got caught on the counter after, I think, we had a corner. I'm pretty sure we were winning at that point because I was quite relaxed when talking about it with my son as something that defines a winner, hoping to influence him (son) to do that sort of stuff when required (he's a striker).

Our defenders and midfielders should hang their heads in shame at allowing that situation to develop. It wasn't as though Suarez was hanging about near the half way line when he started to run, I'm sure he was on the edge of Palace's box, saw the danger and just set off.

No wonder he cried.

That you should get a ban for crying on the pitch.

Easy for him to say as he'll never be in that position with either Stoke or Germany.

It's clear that Suarez needs a break, so it's a shame about the World Cup coming up next month.

A hamstring tear on the lap of honour might be welcome.

On second thoughts - NO. I remember jokingly wishing an injury on John Barnes in the warm up games for Italia 90 (I think) as every top club was sniffing round him that summer. He proceeded to tear an achilles and was out for 6 months or so --- i still feel guilty about that.

You sob, it was you!
Do you know that he was never the same player after those injuries.

Yes I saw that and it was from one of our corners - he covered the whole pitch getting back into our box to protect it. Simply awesome commitment.
