Some more stats :

OptaJoe 53 - Liverpool's total of 53 goals from 28 games is their second best at this stage of a PL season (after 56 in 1995-96). Menace. 46 minutes ago · reply · retweet · favorite

Yeah but err, we won. People keep bemoaning the fact that we're scoring a bucket-full 'coz the opposition were awful'.

We've got to make them look awful. We've scored 4 away at a ground we're notoriously shite at. Smile FFS.

Do you never tire of commenting on other people's support or supposed lack of it?

No one can say anything it seems without being pounced upon.

The four goals were enjoyable. Overall the performance wasn't. We won, great. Thanks for pointing that out.

And we have 42 points. The exact same amount after 28 games we had in 10/11 and 11/12.
A strong run in will see us improve points wise and hopefully finish in the top 6.

That was really impressive.

People can say Wigan were dire an yes they were, but without our passing and movement we wouldn't have ripped them to pieces as many times as we did.

Coutinho's slotted right in and is already linking up with Suarez to great effect...Coutinho's ability to dribble and play little balls through to Suarez takes the pressure of Stevie G to bomb forward and create everything for us.

I'm by no means getting carried away because we still need to improve the team in key areas(mainly the defence) but in terms of style of play, we're playing the best football i've witnessed a Liverpool side play in yonks.

Can you count the amount of times we moan that Manure are shit and they pull out wins? Now who cares if we play like shit and do the same?

Tbh though, I'm actually happy we're complaining about winning despite playing 'meh', or winning because the other teams are playing their C side, or because they're just shite. Long may it last (the winning part that is! 😀)

Reading Rodgers post match comments, it seems as though we've learned our lesson about talking up our chances abouth 4th/3rd etc etc.

One game at the time. Hopefully as many points as possible in the last 10 games.

Made up he turned them down for an interview.
Couldn't agree more. Both of them (Waddle and Champion) let their bias get the better of them. I've watched the game again from ESPN and it's all there for all to see. Hardly shocking but annoying all the same.

Keni, just enjoy it mate, I wasn't questioning your devotion to the club, I was just saying enjoy the win, yeah we didn't have to move up a gear, but so what? Maybe the system worked and it reduced Wigan to how they performed. We won comfortably with plenty to spare.

I thought the silliest bit was Waddle's 'there's not much pace in that back four' comment, which was soon followed by Johnson bombing past four Wigan players.

I imagine a majority of the four-thousand-odd lads singing those songs (who were fucking brilliant throughout the game) were scouse.

I have to say, I don't think Waddle was biased against us at all. Guilty of bad punditry (example par excellence above) but he said lots of positive things about us and our style of play. His oft repeated lines were that we looked more and more comfortable with BR's methods, he thought Coutinho was 'a player', and that despite Wigan being woeful, we had played very well.

Yeah and pissed.

OK, if we discount all the pissed people who sing their lungs out at games we'd probably be left with about twelve songsters from the SOS who don't drink because alcohol is a tool of the capitalists to oppress the masses.

I dont mind Waddle, thinks hes quite fair. Seems people love to feel like the world is against us....
