baffled by the suarez criticism. not a clinical finisher but a world class talent. completely dumbfounded that anyone would give a flying fuck about his 'antics'. give me a fucking break.
but overall, i'm not happy AT ALL with how we've spent/sold since january. here's hoping Benitez is back next season with the support he deserves but barely ever received.
I cant help it Peter. I just dont like him. I think hes a complete wanker. He IS world class no doubt, but he needs help. He is cutting such a frustrated figure playing the loan(ish) striking role. I want to see him smile not lying on his face slapping the floor and screaming for the 37th time every game.

fair enough. i honestly couldn't care less personally, but then i don't mind players diving, feigning injury, or waving imaginary cards. i'm a ruthless mother, me.
i think your with/without Carroll argument is pretty spurious though: yes, points is points, but we've played great stuff and created shitloads without him (bolton, utd, today) so i don't think a lack of space for suarez etc is really an issue. i completely agree about going backwards without maxi and meireles and the style they encouraged, and to a certain extent about aqua as well.
really bad business last summer imo: the wrong positions priortised, and the wrong players identified. doesn't get much worse.
I certainly think thats the biggest issue yes. The day we sold Meireles I went apeshit and there was a bunch of bellends defending the decision for all kinds of reasons.
Simple fact is we sold Meireles, Aquilani and Cole, froze Maxi out of the team and have replaced them with Downing, Adam, Henderson. Its not good enough. I dont understand it. I dont fucking get the thought process in that.
Meireles, Aquilani, Cole, Maxi...
Downing, Adam, Henderson....
FUCK ME!!

i'm totally with you mate. i've not said it on here til now, cos it seems like quite a big statement, but last window was the first time in yearswhen i really felt we were moving backwards, not because of the players bought (obv rafa had some windows where we went backwards) but because the whole transfer policy seemed retrograde. under benitez (and usually under houllier) i always felt i could see what we were trying to achieve - good young players to fit a modern system, working on problem areas of the team. i had faith in the project(s). but for the life of me i couldn't see the wisdom in trying to build things around a daft beanpole pisshead and a mediocre winger, at the expense of lovely technical footballers like meireles, aquilani and maxi - imperfect as they are.
and you know what i thought? of course you do - if only benitez had had this opportunity to really nail those top targets that slipped away, time and again. IF ONLY.
Alves
Simao
Jovetic
Malouda
Pato
Suarez (luckily we got him in the end)
it'll always be something i feel we've been denied, a chance to really, properly, show what he could do.
