Mark has a point. Kristian's a good lad, but that summary of Skrtel's performance today owes a lot to the fact that Daniel Agger is Danish.
Hey, I've just won watching Liverpool play...@the_khl cannot win ... lavishes praise on player who isn't danish, harassed. lavishes praise on danes, harassed. eats bacon, tummy harasses him. drinks beer, liver harasses him. just become a monk man.
He was excellent in defence ... however I think this match also highlighted why he is no longer Rodgers' first choice. Whenever he was in possession and getting closed down he was rarely capable of finding a team mate and instead put his foot through it, invariable meaning United were now able to regain possession and start building again.
So, defensively a 9/10 however from a footballing perspective rather less than that. Thank you for your service Martin (if you are on your way to Napoli, otherwise happy to see you on our bench) and good luck. Hereon I'm looking forward to better footballing CBs in Sakho and IIlori and if, defensively, they are on his level (and it would seem they are) then we will have improved the team.
Shut up Jules.
What the feck is wrong with you?? Gave him credit in the match thread and was quick to acknowledge him in here and yet here you are moaning, talking about Agger?
Obsessed much?
Ah come on he is Danish lad liking a Danish player (who also happens to be a pretty good player and a loyal one for LFC).....to pick him up on it time and time again is just stupid. If he was such a bug Carragher fan, would you lot really have a problem with that?
He said he was focused and had no lapse.....what the heck is wrong with that?
What are we going to do with all cb's?
See above.See above.
82% pass completion rate. 'Rarely' is totally over the top.
And he found his teammates more often than Agger, who had less successful passes. Also more often and with much more succes than Johnson
No it's not. Passing along the back line when not under pressure certainly boosts that figure. Comment stands.

Or it tells us that presumptuousness thrives well on these boards?Surely that fact that JJ is not alone in discerning the veiled dig at Skrtel suggests it's not a figment of his imagination?

If more than one person sees the opposite, then where does that leave your argument?
A lot of people being wrong? If more than one person sees the opposite, then where does that leave your argument?
To be honest I did not expect this thread to turn into another dire Agger v Skrtel debate at all. I was giving him praise and was not having a sly dig or whatever.Meh, just messing with you - it's been a while since I've waded into one of these. Can't be arsed to keep this up, All over two players who really have flattered to deceive, yet consistently attract more attention than deserved. I can't believe I've spent more than time writing about them than the likes of Sami Hyypia.
Of course thats all he did, I must have imagined the flurry into their half and layoff to Sturridge.
That in the context of the_khl's history of posting on Skrtel and Agger, it was open to interpretation, and perhaps you ought not be so quick to jump on anyone's back?
