Saints pre-match talk

Hope he has dropped Milner, he's average. Offers nothing in deeper CM role or the wider right role. Annoys me the about of times he gives needless fouls away and rightly gets booked. He's fortunate he hasn't been sent off yet. Not convinced if have Lallana in there also, but with the current status of the squad with injuries etc, he has to play. Tbf he's been quite bright of late.

Milner isnt average though. Must improve but certainly not an average player.

Lucas is an average player. Thats the norm.

Mignolet – Clyne, Škrtel, Sakho (c), Moreno – Emre Can, Lucas – Firmino, Lallana, Coutinho – Benteke

Get Upgrades on Mignolet, Lucas and Lallana and that's beginning to more resemble a good team. Always liked 4-2-3-1 as a formation.

Bit concerned about the total lack of pace in that attacking three

I'd rather have Milner then Lallana.
But maybe getting benched is what he needs to get going.

Hmmm so Lallana is 6CMs MoM for the past two games (and many other sites - I think the Echo too) and Milner has been playing poorly, yet you'd still prefer Milner. So we are back to favouritism not form then ?

Milner at least harasses and covers ground though, most people would have him in the team ahead of our other two available central midfielders (Allen & Lucas). Get him in and around the box and he'll make stuff happen, he's a good player in a midfield that's typically completely unbalanced. Can's playing well and Lallana has been a bright spot so far.

--------------------Ming--------------------
Clyne-----Skrtel----Sakho----Moreno
-------------------Can------------------
---------Milner-----------Coutinho----
-Ibe------------Benteke--------Lallana

Can't really see why anyone would be too surprised if Milner is being dropped.

I think he's a decent player but he's not really offered too much thus far.

Brave but bold from Klopp, and thats why he's one of the best in the business.

I think if Benteke starts, we definitely have a great chance of winning.
I really really hope it's not Origi that starts.

Get out of Milner's ass mate. He's been shite and can have no qualms about being benched.

I'd love to see what Allen and Lucas are on the same barometer, if Milner's been shite, then we need to make up a new word for those two hapless, inconsistent chancers.

I know you don't rate Lucas but you can't honestly say Milner is better form than him? Allen, yes, fair enough.

Not saying Milner will be this shit all season, he's an experienced campaigner and will get back on track but at the minute he needs taken out imo.

(I'm no Lucas fan boy either)

It seems like it.

Milner hasnt been shit but he does have a lack of technique in parts.

That said he he is good at crossing, so would play on right sided wide player.

Excited to see a more attacking lineup as we have been dire in possession for far too long. Curious to see Milner excluded and even more curious to see how the 3 attacking mids will work together but what we've been doing hasn't been working.

Origi is the new David Ngog.
He's nowhere near as lightweight. Origi could well be an excellent striker, & the only way he'll improve is by playing more, he's not currently hood enough to be leading the line for us imo, but needs must currently.

I feel bad for Ings, he could have made a real impact for us at the moment.

Yep, terrible time for Ings to get injured. Was really in form and taking his opportunity.
