Yeah, I don't think we'll win this one either. Gegenpressing makes us hard to play against and difficult to beat, which is great, but we won't start winning until our attacking play starts heating up at least a little bit – at the moment it's stone-cold. Coutinho and Lallana have no chemistry together (never have), Origi still looks like a league 1 player, Sturridge is injured again and Benteke and Firmino are rusty and not fully fit.
I'll be quite content with a draw and we'll probably need to find at least one goal from somewhere to get it. I think our first win under Klopp will happen in Kazan.

You know we need more than that. But Lucas isnt good enough. We need better.

Lucas cant shoot to save his life though and he's got extremely limited playmaker skills.

That surprises me. It's the one position that I think getting in a genuine talent there will make a big difference on its own.
Whilst lucas can do pretty well there, he can't do it consistently. Against arsenal, & the second half the other night, he looked great. At other times he looks off the pace & slightly laboured.
I don't disagree he's the best we've got there, but we definitely need better, & for me, getting that position sorted with a quality dm who can protect the back four & distribute it effectively should be number one priority.
Lucas has to play as Allen is not up to the standards at the moment. Lucas is a good distributer of the ball, and we also must remember that when the Whole team participates in the press, DMs has an easier job.
I think we will win this one, and that Can and Lucas play the 2 in a 4-2-3-1. I also believe Lallana and Coutinho Plays, and I hopefully Ibe get the nod Ahead of Milner. Saints will not be that low, which means pace will be important.

That's exactly what I think he's doing right. We could get someone that is quicker and more agile but it won't make that much of a difference imo.
We need more quality in attack. That's where our issues are.
As I said though, he's inconsistent, & if he's playing most matches that will only mean more worse games towarss the tail end of the season.
Yes, that's why we need to sell Allen and buy a young DM. Him and Lucas can rotate. Or play Rossiter.
It's freaking amazing that we have not been able to find a proper replacement for Mascherano.
Poulsen, Spearing, Meireles (wasn't a DM), Allen (isn't a DM), Can (isn't a DM) etc
We've suffered from a major identity crisis the past few seasons - don't know what kind of team we want to be. Square pegs in round holes all across the lineup. It clicked for a while, by accident, in 2013-14 but otherwise we've not looked like we have much of a clue how best to lineup. Players always in new roles, changing formations, etc. There has been a lack of quality as well - but definitely not helped by lack of identity.
