I hope Mané will be great for us, haven't seen anywhere near enough of him to judge him myself so I have no clue but I like the fact he sound fast, direct and hard-working. With goals.

On another note out of all those players leaving S'oton the one I really wanted us to buy just went to Spurs.

Watermelon.

Where's he gonna fit into out best 11 I wonder?

Erm....suppose it depends on what formation Klopp settles on.

But say it's 4-2-3-1, it would be on the right of the attacking three, with Sturridge as the main striker.

Or in a 4-3-3, not that different, him on the right. He's certainly not a central, lone striker. If he plays more centrally it will still have to be just behind Sturridge.

As for whose first team place is most at risk, it's hard to say. Lallana seems a popular choice, but he can play either side really.

Brendan, I think you've been whooshed. Ryan was eluding to his cleverly thought out theory that a favoured first XI became extinct in the 60's. He's the only person on the forum who recognises it's a squad game.

All teams have a best XI. It's the team that's the best out of the all the players in the squad.

Talking of Ryan's chalkboards, I think my favourite ever moment on here was when Dreamy KHL predicted a team for the weekend fixture during Rafa's tenure and Ryan lampooned it, sneering at the lack of balance and deriding it as the kind of team an infant would select, only for Rafa to pick that very team and for it to win 3 or 4 nil. Good times.

"How would that fucking team win, Dreamy? How?"

I remember it because I think I picked the same team, or at least agreed entirely with dreamy's post. It felt weird. But good.

He also described it as 'tactical suicide'

That might have been the same season we got Benfica in the CL and Ryan got the chalk board out to show us all in no uncertain terms how they had absolutely nothing to hurt us with. We obviously got beat.

I'll probably get murdered for this. But there is something Suarezy about him.

Disclaimer - I am not saying he is the next Suarez or is here to replace him. Just that some of his play is Suarezesque

Aww bless Ryan.
Hes a good lad. And he does see tactics well. Probably a great example of how fucking random this game is.

Yes, but it was Salzburg.
Nobody has yet answered the question I posed earlier .... how can one player, refusing to play for his club, lead to said club being banned from Europe ? It seems rather illogical to me but maybe there is a reason ?

It wasn't Dreamy, I'm pretty certain it was KHL. Anyway, it was against Porstmouth at home for a midweek game and KHL got the team almost right. We humped the worst Portsmouth team in memory. That same team he selected NEVER once started togethor again, and by the end of the year we'd sold half of them.

You've made that up.

Damn, it wasn't Dreamy, that would have made it perfect. However, he got the team right man for man. All 11. That was what made it so hilarious.
