Rodgers thinks Sterling is knackered

Ronaldo and Rooney were making a similiar amount of appearances at that age. Just sayin.

Sterling this season is on a par with Ronaldo when he was 18, I'm not saying Sterling will end up at the same level as Ronaldo, just that we need to be patient with him, just like United were with Ronaldo.

ronaldo and especially rooney were also a lot better built than sterling at that age. But ronaldo played 40 games in all competitions in his first season.

Wasn't Ronaldo a bit shit in his early days? We may well have got to this level quicker if he wasn't overplayed.

Anyway every player is different, you can't assume every player will need the same treatment. It's obvious that Sterling is not performing as well as we'd expect him to recently, and it's most likely because of the pressure(on and off field), so he needs a break.

look at Gareth Bale then, Sterling has every chance of being better than him if he keeps developing. After a great start as a relative unknown oppo sides have adapted their tactics in defending against him making it more difficult for him to make an impact. Witness the u21 game against MU the other night when as soon as he got the ball there were 4 people pressing and kicking the shit out of him.

Sterling will not be as good as bale

*fabs outlandish prediction *

At the age of 18 ffs he can't play 2 or 3 games of football a week?! I could have.

If only we'd signed you then eh. Then we'd be spared your ill-informed opinions and whopping generalisms on here. Still, you'd have been as shit a footballer as you are a poster. But never mind at least you'd have played 2/3 times a week.

I don't think he's physically knackered, he's fit as a fiddle.
Which begs the question, how is he mentally knackered? Is it the pressure getting to him of having to perform for a big club like us? Does he need counciling for that? I can't see how he's mentally knackered of playing for our club? If any of us got a chance to play for our club upto 3 times a week - we'd be over the moon! Does he go on a downer when the boss picks him?

If he's not mentally ready to part of the big time, we should get him out on loan to build his confidence up or something to be ready to play premiership football.

I never get this moaning about 3 games in a week thing, these days most top level footballers are supreme athletes and could probably run a marathon every bloody day.

You don't think he's knackered? Oh well, stop the world spinning, Mors thinks something so it must be true.

As for running a marathon every day, that just shows the ridiculous amount of hyperbole you're prepared to use, that you think proves a point. Little tip it doesn't. You do realise that running marathons is a completely different discipline to football.

A whopping thundercunt of a post - unsurprisingly.

Yea he was a bit of a joke, I vividly remember this exact gif being emailed around about 9 years ago that perfectly summed him up.

There's a few lads including Sterling I don't think we'll see the best of again until the last few games of the season when the pressure if off or perhaps not even until next season.

Ronaldo played 40 times in a season, we still have 2 and a half months left yet....

It is about the timing of those games, most of stirlings where one after another 'cos we are shite - thats the problem...

Fair enough. It will do no harm for him to be out of the team for a while anyway. The desire we saw from him in his first couple of months, If his character is strong, should come back.

Correct, hopefuly he is strong and will, after a rest, be back upto the level he was at the start of the season if not a level above...

With Photoshop, it would be pretty easy to revive that gif by making it look like Nani

i dont understand why rogers has to make this point the way he did? why even mention is publicly? I can't imagine Ginoask ever saying something like this about his players, not in public anyway.

Really? Is it really that bad? Do people seriously have to nitpick everything he says? He said he needs to be nurtured, there's nothing wrong with that. As for Ginsoak, given we read pretty much everything Rodgers says and may only pick up the odd glance at a Fergie interview, it's a bit naive to suggest he's never talked about a young player needing to be protected.

as far as i am concerned I don't know the purpose behind the public statement? what value does it add in addition to a statement to raheem one-to-one? it's almost as though brendan loves the "brendan rogers show" so much that he feels obliged to tell all. keep it inside.

I think all this Brendan Rodgers Show bollocks comes from that fuckwitted idea of a fly on the wall series that our fuckwit owners decided upon, Rodgers had no choice but to partake in and some divs even actually watched. Here's a novel idea for some Liverpool fans - try getting behind your team and manager once in a blue moon instead of constantly picking out faults

I didn't watch the series and look at me, I fucking love Rodgers!
