Rafa sacked

I also subscribe to the fact that there are many contributing factors that had more influence over the 04-05 cl success than Rafa.

There always is in a team game. There is never a single cause of either failure or success. So it goes with Klopp, he won't be the deciding factor, it's him in conjunction with his staff and players.

Shite Rafa, put him on suicide watch. And don't mention Valencia, I used to have a good head of hair in the 1990s but I haven't been the barbers this century. Get on a diet and get a job on a sitcom.

I don't know about Arn's view but I suspect like all of us Rafa gets on well with some people and not others, simple human relationships. On a broader level I understand the Valencia fans are very appreciaitve of his time with them and I've no doubt he'd recieve a warm welcome again at Anfield.

A massive part of management is gaining the respect of people you manage, whether they like you or not. If, as Arn says, the players at Inter, Chelsea and Madrid never played for him, well, for me, that's a pretty big blight on Rafa's management copybook. Saying that, Chelsea's players must have been at least remotely interested in playing for him to win the Wafer Cup under him. Wonder why arn discounts that.

Wrong loan.

Hicks and Gillett loaned the club 150m. 111m of that was used to cover the loan interest repayments. The other 39m was used for covering some of the losses as a result of operating costs.

The 150m was never repaid.

They bought the club and used a loan to pay for it. After that they loaned even more money so they could sign some players. The loan got bigger and and as a result they had to more interest. Hicks and Gillett didn't loan any money to the club.Totally risk free for them.

If they couldn't pay back the loan or pay the interest then the bank would take over the club. That in the end forced them to sell the club. They had to sign an agreement that the board would have the power and not only Gillett and Hicks. We had five board members and the other three agreed to sell the club. Gillett and Hicks could do nothing to stop the deal. They tried but failed in the famous court case.

Dude, I like Rafa but you are ridiculous. If he sold Alonso to pay a loan then why spend 20 million on Aquilani. I agree Hicks and Gillett were a complete cancer on the club but Rafa had his failings.

They got all the money from the Xabi deal upfront. We signed Aquilani the normal way paying in instalments and because Roma owned us money after the Riise deal we didn't pay anything the first few months.

Rafa's message on his site:

[article]"Now, at the end of my time as first team coach of Real Madrid, I would like to use this article to say goodbye to everyone at every level of the club. I want everyone at the club from the board of directors, executives, workers and all of the fans, know that it has been an honour and privilege to be in charge at this club where I grew up as a person, player and coach from the lowest categories through to the first team.

"As a Madridista from Madrid, steeped in the traditions and values of this institution, which I learned in the old sports city of Castellana, it has been an honour to work for these colours. I would especially like to thank everyone at the new sports city and the Santiago Bernabéu who since my first steps through the door have supported me and made my work easier. Thanks to all for helping.

"With all that I have said still in mind, I would like to wish good luck to Zinedine Zidane,my successor, and his staff. To all the players, coaches and staff in both Valdebebas and Bernabéu, I wish all the best and also good luck.

"With all my respect and thanks... HALA MADRID and NOTHING ELSE. "[/article]

He's taken it 'so well' it's almost like he just took the dead end job to fulfill a life long ambition ...

Naah, all PR. He'll be pretty upset, and will be back. He should have had a season. Clearly player power. Needs to move closer to his kids though. Surprised to see they still live on Mersey, but that itself shows you he knew this might be a temp job.

You can't handle the truth.

I'm sure Rafa will get the chance to manage Real Madrid again in a few years after they hire and fire every other manager in world football.

How you feeling after the sacking? Did you knew it was going to happen or was it a sudden thing?

PS.You shouldn't refer to yourself in the third person.

The best thing about Rafa getting sacked is i can go back to wanting Real Madrid to lose every game now. I was somewhat torn when Rafa was in charge.
