Schalke bought Kevin Prince Boateng for €12M from Milan. I'm surprised we were not interested. He was not so great last season, but the season before that he was a monster of a player. Probably fed up with racism in Italy.

One of the best box to box midfielders today, would have been the heir apparent to Stevie if he came here. The transfer seemed to have come out of the blue, maybe we weren't in the running because it was so hush hush; we didn't even know he was available.

I don't think he's as good as you're making out - even two years ago. He scores wonder goals and has got a tremendous engine but the rest of his game leaves a lot to be desired imo.

As I've said earlier, he's a good player but one of those who has one good game and then 2-3 bad.
We cant afford that luxury.

He's got one of the most insane shots on him though.

Perhaps. He's not consistent enough and seems to be injury prone. He was pushed up to play as a #10 in Milan and a complaint levied against him is that he isn't cultured enough in the final third.

Would like us to look for a similar player in Jan. A Boateng, Strootman or Pogba (Pogba is the pick of the bunch), someone who can play as a defensive mid but with the dynamism to motor forward up the pitch. Although Rodgers appears to favour a holding midfielder, i.e. Lucas and Allen.

And Bayern have two of them in Martinez and Schweinsteiger!
