Yes he will. When he's around 35 in a Michael Owen type of way. Play 120 minutes over ten games.

Didnt Brian Robson eventually get one like taht

If over the next year or so we invest a significant amount of money very wisely and are able to mould our talent into a team that is greater than the sum of its parts... he's got a shot.

So basically no.

If he plays and behaves like he's doing at present he wouldn't deserve to, either. In the here and now, that's much more of a concern for me.

Have you seen how many points the mancs are going to get this season? It's going to be 90 odd. We're so far away from that, we'd need half a dozen top signings.

I agree with Ross that we should start building a team that isnt centered around Gerrard. When he's up for it he's good enough to slot into any side but right now he's not really doing his reputation justice. It would be a real shame to see him go out with a whimper - struggling to motivate himself in a crap side, a shadow of the player he was (and potentially could still be).

Stevie has hinted about quitting his internation career to concentrate on his club football after Euro 12.
Either it was a veiled threat to the FA if he didn't get the England captaincy or else he still feels motivated to contribute his utmost to his club.
Hopefully the latter but I am not convinced

Of course not, but that doesn't matter cos we won the carling cup and that's a trophy.

In fact, you can see the joy that that CC victory has put back into Gerrard's game. Take that game on Sunday at Newcastle, Gerrard wasn't getting worked up, fucked off, or angry. He was just jogging round going 'what's the fucking issue here boys? We've won a trophy this year... Relaaaaaaaaaaaaax'.

Why do you keep bringing up the Carling Cup thing Ryan?

I don't think anyone is thinking along those lines, at least not anymore, and even if theoretically someone was so overjoyed by it, would that be so bad for them?

I'm certain Gerrard will never lift the trophy he wants most, and I'm less certain than ever that I'll ever see Liverpool win it. I'd love for it to be a question of when.
