He's working his way back to fitness but looks weeks away from being ready. He's played for the reserves but seemed very subdued.

I actually rate Kelly and I think he's been a bit unlucky.
Somehow I expected more from him in those reserve games. He should be dominant, like Borini was against Man U. A level above the rest on the pitch. From what I've seen he has a long way to go.

Yes, I agree, I've always liked him, but I've been a bit alarmed at how he's played in the reserve games. Maybe the injury was worse than we thought, but he seems very reluctant to really get involved at the moment. (It doesn't help that he's such a miserable-looking bastard!)

He did do something about his hair though.

The last few interviews I've read from Laudrup about us, he's come across as a bit of a twat.

All the more incentive.

With teams around us getting good result, it just mounts that little bit of added pressure. Let's see how our team reacts to it on Monday....that should give a pretty solid indication on what we should expect for the season.

Swansea are a good team!

I hate Monday night football. It fills me with dread, think it goes back to a stretch under Rafa when we couldn't win a Monday night game.

Think West Ham may have been one of the teams involved.

If only the game were that easy.

I hope Sturridge is fit otherwise I fear we might be a bit toothless up front.

Hopefully Moses can add more goal threat.

I expect Skrtel to keep his place in the team after the way he played against United. Agger will start. Toure will almost certainly start at RB; he will win the competition with Wisdom. But he will not be nearly as adventurous as Johnson going forward and with Hendo starting at RW in front of him, I think our formation will kind of switch between 2 and 3 CBs. When Swansea has possession, we might look more like 3-4-2-1, but when we attack, Henderson will run forward and Toure will play as a conventional RB.

In attack I have a feeling that Moses will start at the expense of Aspas with Coutinho moving to the middle. So:

(attacking)
-----------Sturridge----------------
Moses----Coutinho----Henderson
----------Lucas------Gerrard-----
Enrique----------------------Toure
---------Agger-------Skrtel-------
--------------Mignolet-------------

(Defensive)
--------------Sturridge------------
Moses--------------------Coutinho
----------Lucas------Gerrard------
Enrique----------------Henderson
-------Agger--Skrtel--Toure-----
--------------Mignolet-------------

I would bring on Allen for Lucas after 60 minutes and also sub Moses for Aspas or Sterling when appropriate.

I still think Kelly has a change of making it at the big stage. He obviously needs a prolonged injury free run however.

I agree. He's going to be a very able CB but maybe he could do with playing in that position on loan.

I think you're spot on. Sakho's lacking fitness so will likely be ok about getting up to speed over the next few weeks. Then he'll give Rodgers a headache.

With Sturridge fit and that line up, we should really be beating Swansea tomorrow. Moses to have a blinder on his first start.

I can't see Sakho will give Rodgers a headache. You don't spend that much on a player who might give you a headache. You put them in the team, once they're fit. As has been discussed interminably elsewhere, it's who'll partner him.
