Having the game Monday is great as it gives our lads even more rest time to prepare and gives Sturridge and Kolo more time to get fit.

Considering we are not in Europe having the game Monday is a big blessing.

It's bollocks. KO here (+8 GMT) will be like 03.00 *grumpy face*

Moses will start. I imagine Aspas and Moses will compete for one spot in time.

If Toure is fit he'll start but otherwise I'd expect Sakho to make his debut. Wisdom in at right back for Johnson with Henderson ahead of him. Moses left of Couthinho, behind Sturridge (presuming he's fit).

That all said, this is one of those away games that Rodgers might just go 3-5-2 in.

I'd happily settle for another 1-0 away win and a continuing winning streak. I hope that Sturridge recovers to feature in the game.

The lads will be up for this game after our Swansea woe last season. Time to put things right.

Here's one for you:

Allen in Henderson's place, Henderson goes to right back.

Just a thought.

Controversial.

I can't see it happening though. Hendo to the surprise of most if not everyone started ahead of Allen on opening day vs Stoke and he hasn't looked back since.

I love that about Rodgers, he picks players on form and sometimes at the expense of his own signings.

Yep, also Swansea have some tricky players on the flanks in Dyer and Routledge who usually switch during the game so don't think it's the ideal game for Henderson to play right back.

Reckon Wisdom will get the nod, or Toure could even play there if needs must.

The ballsy move would be to play McLaughlin. He'd be a threat in attack as well.

Think that would be brash rather than ballsy.

There's a real sense of occasion and focus on this game. Another win would really make a statement and give the team some excitement with Suarez just one game away after Swansea.

Not suggesting the team are just hanging in for his return. Rather, he carries genuine menace which will really compound the confidence of the team if they're on 4 straight.

Imagine Suarez returning to a team with 9 wins and 1 draw since he left. How good would that be!

Might sound a bit backwards given our recent results, but especially against Swansea I have to think that our best form of defense would be attack.

So do I, but their set up is tailor made for picking us off, so I think there has to be some element of staying compact between the midfield and attack, to close the spaces the likes of Michu will look to exploit. Our biggest issue will be if Sturridge is out, we need his pace on the break and we need someone who knows where the goal is, it's difficult to see us being able to rely on Aspas, Coutinho and whoever else. They are all capable though, but they need to start chipping in, otherwise it's going to be Sturridge or Suarez carrying us all the time.

Hopefully Moses will take a bit of pressure off. When we start getting our neat passing game going we should expect Coutinho and Hendo picking up a few goals too. If we win this game, which is in some respects our toughest fixture thus far, I'm going to allow myself to get excited.

I agree though. Studge is crucial for us on Monday.

I hate Monday night football and we never do well. Time to change up and get that win.

With Johnson out 3-5-2 is a real option. Sakho debut?

Definitely, I just hope people don't go all hysterical if we stumble, we're getting there but I'd be surprised if there weren't hiccups along the way.

They look vulnerable at the back anyway, so hopefully there's goals in it for us and we manage to control Michu this time.

BR must make a statement of intent and go for the win. Wisdom could easily play RB but tweaking a 3-5-2 formation to get a win is going to be necessary at some point. Its about using the players at your disposable for maximum gain. We have great attacking options and its likely that both Sturridge and Toure will recover in time.

Another win will take our confidence levels up a notch and put us back on top. No better way to challenge than from the front.

We've not done it many times from the off though, he tends to tweak things 'in game', as he did at Everton etc. Maybe he'll go with whoever at right back and see how it goes, I'm guessing Michu will come into his thinking though, so we'll either see Lucas tasked with man marking him, or a change in approach in the midfield.

BR is improving as a manager and its shown with his formation tweaks, results. He was quite inflexible when he first started but having the players he inherited didn't give him much option I suppose.

I'd thought of that if we plumped for 3-5-2

Maybe, but I'd be surprised if we see this 3-5-2 that everyone seems to be throwing up more than 2 or 3 times this seasons. If even that.

Lucas is the third defender in BR's set-up. It makes no sense to add in what would be a 4th.
