Jenas is just a shite commentator. He's just not insightful at all. He made me switch to ITV for all of the Euros.

I actually think he greatly contributed to our flat second half .. a lot of sideways passing and fizzing it forward to marked players so it popped straight back. This was in direct contrast to the first half when he and Thiago were a lot more creative.
I thought the whole front 3 were at fault for that. They just looked like they didn’t want to step up that extra gear.

Yeah he was babbling a little when Peter Walton gave him a good retort on the pen situation.
I particularly enjoyed him saying that Trent simultaneously tackled Frazer from behind and from the side.
Which is it Jenas?
It was from the side but a tackle from behind sounds more like a foul.

He’s a bell end. A thick bell end.

Yeah after he said Trent tackled him from behind, they switched to the replay and Trent was clearly to Fraser's side.

Awkward.

Eddie Howe saying the turning point was the second goal. Defender goes down after a corner. Was it a clear to the ref that it was a head injury. Trent put the ball out in a recent game when he saw a defender down in the box. But the cross to Jota was in the moment so to speak, it was instinctive as was Jota going for the ball.

Eddie would say Dean should've stopped the game soon as he sees the player down but if that was the norm players would be dropping in the box after every corner. I think Dean could've stopped play and we would have no complaint. It was just the move developed very quickly and Dean can't make decisions retrospectively.

The scoreline didn't reflect it but they were the worst pile of shite I've seen at anfield for a long time. And that cheating bastard holding his head. Why is there even a debate when he was obviously trying to get the game stopped? He should have been booked.
Dean wasn't buying it.. Said he thought it was his back.

Howe the Ricky Gervais looking cunt said "it was dangerous, he was dazed for 4 or 5 minutes". Well guess what Eddie? If that's the case, he should have been subbed for concussion you lying prick.

As far as I remember, some of Trent’s best goals came from the left side-ish angle - there is something about the way he strikes the ball that makes it easier to hit the target from that angle rather than his usual RB/RW spot. Some food for thought for the coaching staff, perhaps…

First goal. Otherwise agree.

The player was pretending to be injured. There was fucking nothing wrong with him.
Yep they do this all the time to get the game stopped, slow it down and buy time to reorganise. I can understand why Dean didn't stop it even though if the move had gone on a few seconds more he surely would have.

He's right footed - better from the left makes complete sense !

The thing is, he hits the ball pretty straight, it doesn’t curl as much as Salah’s, for example. But from the RW position it often flies high/wide, whereas from the left side he can open his body up and really lash it. Would love for this to become a regular feature to keep opposition GKs on edge…

Trent actually has the full package - he can hit it hard and straight (yesterday) but the reason he takes so many FKs is that he can put a wicked curl on it. You know this of course 😉

We have Trent, thiago, Fabs, ox, Keita, Jones who can all strike a wicked ball.

I'd like to see us work opportunities for these guys more often. It will force teams to work hard to close the threat down and open up space for our front 3 to use...

Don't remember a shot quite as powerful as that since another scouse legend...

Konate was excellent last night. Very impressive. You could see him defend in a Virgil style approach at times. Just getting infront of his man, shielding the ball.
And so many of our attacks starting from one of our CBs winning the ball but playing it on one touch to either a midfielder or full back, and then turn in transmission to a quick attack.

We looked a bit lost at times with Hendo switching roles and Ox in his space.
But all in all, good win.

It's normal for a right footed player.

Does this open up the debate once again as to his best position. I know the Boss has ruled out a move into midfield. He was able to roam and drift across and showing from the right side he can cannon them in. Great passer and getting better all the time. The Ox isn't the answer as the attacking midfielder. Boss would say the Ox gives us better shape pulling their holding players deep, but TAA offers much more.

Question - Is the Boss doing us a disservice by insisting on him staying at left back?

Does it matter so much anymore? There was large chunks last night where he was essentially a number 10, and other where he was a RWF. A starting position, or the one he eventually tracks back to is a more or less just that now, a starting position. At least this way he knows he has to get his arse back on occasion.

Against a good team we would have lost comfortably, hopefully we can find the right midfield balance for Spurs. Thiago & Hendo holding doesn't work if Hendo is continuing to pretend he is Harvey Elliot.
