Could have won, could have lost, dodged a bullet with that great penalty save. Firminiho could have won it for us. Point gained, forget about the league this year

It feels in retrospect as though the game came a week too soon for us - Coutinho isn't quite back to full fitness or sharpness, Mane wasn't ready... But before the game I would have taken that.

I was disappointed in Matip - he didn't seem himself and made some silly mistakes. Our midfielders, as the results have gone against us, have developed this negative tic of passing back when there are wonderful open spaces and players in great positions ahead of them - they really need to shake that off right now.

As for Firminho, he doesn't look sharp, he doesn't look positive and he doesn't look happy. Is he tired? Is the court case weighing on his mind? I have no idea, but I think he could do with a rest.

It was always going to be a bitter sweet feeling if we did okay/well, because the inevitable question has to be: where the heck was this level of commitment, urgency and intensity in recent games? I just hope we get more of the same in the next game.

Should have nicked it with the frim chance. Great save from Ming. He Looks to have turned a corner.

Fingers crossed that this sparks something. Get a win against Hull and maybe have a few on the bounce. Go back to the set up we had earlier in the season when we had a full squad and one game a week.

Style of play hasn't changed 1 bit.

We really did get away with one....could easily have lost.

Thank christ mane is back...did more in 20 mins than Phil did all game.

Good solid performance. Battled and scrapped for everything. Think we deserved to nick it...Firmino simply has to be taking one of those chances. Pleasing to see Wijnaldum get the sort of goal he scored regularly for Newcastle last season.

On the negative side of things....I couldn't work out who was worse between Lovren and Matip tonight...both played like headless chickens all night. Less said the better about Mig's part in their goal...good save from the pen to be fair.

Is Mark Clattenburg on Twitter? I can't be arsed going round his house to shout bellend through his letterbox.

He's such a dick. What with his egomania -

and his incredibly irritating wannabe mime artiste hand gestures -

and his strange habit of fecking us over against Chelski (wasn't it his first season when he made an ATROCIOUS decision to lose us that game?), I just want to smash his face in.

Inconceivable!

It's like a normal person having tattoos of work achievements. A CV in the form of tattoos. Idiothole.
We should get work themed tattoos, you could get a corporate box and I'll get a chicken with a broken neck.

Hello Everyone

Did not think we would lose this game and true to form - the players were up for it. As the commentator said - "The Bleeding has been stopped". Really happy with the result given the previous games. One thing I noticed from our lot today was that there was some aggressive bite and not just the friendly fair play pussy shit going on - with Milner's little slide in at the apex of it all. Just a few points:-

1) Great goal from Gini and I know there is a special thread on him asking "What is the point ?" - well I thought that in the early part of this season but I realized soon enough what he offers just before the Man United game at home when I found out he was injured. He keeps things ticking and retains the ball well and does as some of you have pointed out get into great positions. So that is 3 goals for him so far this season which is great.

2) The goal highlighted what needs to happen when the buses keep arriving at home with their 10 men shield. We need to queue up in the final third and cause havoc in the penalty area with urgency and none of this strolling shit in front of their defense trying to put the ball through. Need to use the wings and pacey low level crosses so our midgets can score.

3) Notice how quickly Chelsea move that ball when they got into our half ? - that is what we need to get back to in many ways. Klopp is right regarding our decision making so many times better passes were on to play to team-mates with a bit of space in that sea of blue shit. But our players seem to just pass to the first person that is directly in their line of sight. Really pisses me off.

4) Given the other results today - we should treat every opponent like they are Chelsea or some big shit team because the rest of the league is now in full swing. For many of the lower teams the first half of their season is their pre-season but now with survival/title challenges/cups up for grabs all of them will be up for it home and away. The Watford result today at Arsenal highlights this, and I am hoping Hull / West Ham will do some damage tomorrow. We shall see.

5) We should be aiming for top 3 and not 4th. Title maybe beyond us now but you never know as Chelsea will find it harder against teams now. I cannot believe that they will continue to win every remaining game.

WE GOT THE MANE MAN BACK !!!! - Some pace up front at last.

Fucking twattenberg - they scored from a free kick that never was. Some twat went right through Origi and should have been booked - played on - Moses pushed someone over in the area - brushed aside - he was on the Russians pay role [emoji35]

Unfortunately that's pretty much the text book definition of a team with no confidence. Everybody plays within themselves because they don't want to take a risk and be the one that gets blamed when we lose. You see the reverse when teams are flying, players are lining up to shoot from everywhere because they 'know' we will win and want in on it. Right now we Andre playing like a side that 'knows' it's going to lose.

I wasn't overly impressed with our performance really. The work rate was back but we lacked quality and created only a few chances especially in the first half where we huffed and puffed but didn't threaten too much.
Far too many of our players look out of form and the passing at times was dreadful. We may have been better than recent cup games but them performances were so bad that it didn't take too much improve on them and compare last night to our early season form and it was nowhere near as good.
The big test is whether they will be up for it against Hull and treat it as importantly as the Chelsea game. Chelsea are a very good team so a draw isn't inexcusable but anything less than a win against Hull will be.

Our interplay was sloppy at times going forward, but I put that down to some players still finding their feet (read Coutinho). It was definitely a step in the right direction, but let's hope we build on it against Hull before our next massive game against Spurs.

We always tend to raise our game against the bigger sides so a decent performance was never going to take anyone by complete surprise but the downturn in our recent form has been so alarming a spanking wouldn't have been all that surprising either.

We needed to not lose last night and put in a credible performance. We achieved that. It was always going to be an ask to beat a very good side sitting comfortably at the top of the table though we came close.

The game last night taught us nothing we didn't already know. As said the acid test will come in the coming weeks against teams that for some infuriating reason we seem to like throwing away points against.

To be honest I thought the free kick for the goal was a fair enough decision. There was contact for the penalty but of course the cheating cunt played for it and got it. Either of those incidences the other way around and we would be looking for decisions in our favour. Unfortunately on the couple of occasions when that happened we didnt get them.

It's the inconsistency that kills you.

In a bizarre turn of events it seems like Dreamy has taken on the role of "The Informed Objective Supporter", ya'know, the one that is able to take off the rose-tinted specs and see the truth for what it is.

His rose-tinted glasses only work for Rooney, Mourinho and every-fucking-thing else to do with the mancs.

Far too many passes and touches went astray when we got ourselves into promising positions. It led to the breakdown of so much good work and often led to Chelsea breakaways. Milner was most at fault today, I think I counted 3 or maybe 4 attempted tackles when he dived in and the winger just skipped past him, had that been Moreno we would have slaughtered him on here.

And the most frustrating of all was we seemed, in the first half at least, maybe Klopp had a word at HT, to stop committing players into the box. Milner made one very dangerous run and cross and we had just two players in the box, against 6-7 Chelsea players, it would be a miracle to score under those conditions. However notice the difference when Gini scored .. we had 5 in the box at that time and it makes it far more difficult for the defence to cover every attacker properly.
