It has to me Mo surely?
His form hardly dipped during our poorest of spells and only for him our season outcome would surely have been bleaker
No other outstanding candidates really.
Maybe Jota if he hadn't got injured in December and maintained his form and goal scoring.
Maybe Nat if he had came into the team earlier and performed as he did.
Can't really think of anyone else worth mentioning.
Gini maybe for his sheer availability.

Yep. Only him.

Ali had some important mistakes. TTA was awol for the middle of the season.

Everyone had significant wobbles at one stage or another, to put it politely, except Mo.

Has to be Mo. The sixth highest number of goals scored by an LFC player in a season since football started in 1992.

2017-2018 Mohamed Salah 44
1995-1996 Robbie Fowler 36
2007-2008 Fernando Torres 33
2013-2014 Luis Suarez 31
1996-1997 Robbie Fowler 31
2020-2021 Mohamed Salah 31
2012-2013 Luis Suarez 30

Fabinho would have had a decent case if not for his spell out injured. As it stands it's Salah by a large margin

Salah by a mile. I dread to think where we’d have ended up without him.

Fabinho is #2. The guy is a rock.

Robbo has had a very poor season by his standards. Application doesn't = quality. His crossing and passing has been way off since Xmas, though defensively sound. Run himself into the ground.
He was a steady Eddie throughout the whole season. Didn’t play in something ridiculous like 15 minutes of premier league matches.

I'm not sure that should qualify anyone for player of the season though. He had a poor season by his standards, nowhere near one of our top performers.

He does for me. He was excellent the first third of the season and when the team had that wobble he was one of the few who could consistently make top 3 MOMs.

Excellent against United, then below par since. You’re right he’s definitely a step below his normal standards.

Also, if we’re talking about reaching the high standards set for themselves, Fabinhos move back to DM has worked wonders, but he hasn’t actually been that great for the last few games. Looks like he could do with some R&R (whilst he and Thiago collectively pray that Henderson gets overlooked for the England squad so they have a willing runner and organiser in midfield for the whole of next season)

Mo
Fab
Nat

You’d think that Fabinho’s game will develop further after being asked to play in defence.
I have to say, watching us yesterday its clear that he is more vocal and acting as a leader after being challenged by Klopp. Fantastic player and attitude.

Read some interview with Fabs a few days ago where he stated that he likes playing with Thiago in midfield and that it's easier for him to communicate due to Thiago speaking portuguese.

1. Fabs. He was one of the leagues very best CBs, when he played back there. Then he moved back to his real position and we finished third. He didn't have a sexy season, but he had a quietly magnificent one that got lost in the mayhem.
2. Mo.
3. Nat.
