I don't say you are wrong, but what do you base this on? Clyne has played about 1 competitive game in a year or more and TAA is an integral part of a defence that has not let in a goal on Anfield since february and seem steady as shit.

6 games against rubbish.

Not as impressive as it sounds but an improvement.

My judgement is based on Clynes performance before injury

You still can't deny the fact that for a long time, also while Clyne played, our defence were seen as the weak point of costing us constantly while now With TAA playing we seem steady as shit even agaisnt the likes of Man City and others.

Haha. Not sure why it happens, but the word "og" means "and" in Norwegian and it seem impossible to ovewrite that autocorrect.
This is good. I think words that mean "and" should have as few letters as possible, "og" is a great example as is is "et", and the Spanish "y" is nirvana as far as I am concerned (*)

In fact "and" even lets itself down as three letters is a bit much for me. Here in Ireland not only do they have four letters, but its also two syllables - I couldn't believe it when I first came over & I asked what is this word "agus" that I keep hearing in Gaelic broadcasts, and was told, to my eternal astonishment, that it meant "and"!

(*) A nod to JJ : I just discovered that in Maltese it is "u" … an excellent example, but still trumped by the Mauri "a" - not just a single letter … alphabetically the winner. It could only be trumped by use of a single space character.

Oliver is tonight's ref. We'v won 3 out of the 15 he has reffed in away games. That added to a Monday night game made me brick it even more for tonight.

Not sure. But without speculating on his injury specifically it is a real test to og away for such periods injured. The motivation to make it back to the highest level must be tested numerous of times. I mean it is not just a question to get back as a footballer, here you have to og allthe way back to CL final level's. It is a test of character for sure. The numbers of dire repetations in the gym, witnessing others grabbing their chance in your position, isolation fro the rest of the Squad etc etc. Some manage to do it. Others not so much. Even after the injury you have to find the way back to the team and push as an outsider. So it certainly hampen the natural development.
But that's not injury prone, that's coming back from a tough injury.
An injury prone player is by definition a player who's frequently injured.
If a player who has never been injured gets a knee injury and is sidelined for a year? Does that make him injury prone? No.

On the positives-
  1. He's actually one of the better referees
  2. those stats have to equalise by the law of averages
  3. he reffed Palace 4 times in the league last season- 1 win, 2 losses and a draw

Be interesting to see what changes Klopp makes tonight. I suspect we may see the midfield trio changed up, with perhaps Fabinho and/or Henderson start, and Shaqiri may also have a shout.

Can't see any other changes, as the rest of the team seems to pick itself really.

This is a very important game with our other "Big Six" rivals (United aside) all starting the season well. We don't want to let City, Chelsea or Spurs get too far ahead if we have any designs on anything more than scraping into fourth place again. Palace away and Monday night is not a great combination, but a win would show that we really mean business - it's exactly the sort of fixture we have struggled with in recent years.

The last thing we want is to have another inquest after a slow start, low energy and a defeat that Klopp "can't explain".

The only change I can see is adding a bit of height in midfield to help counter Palace's set-piece threat. So Hendo or Fabinho for Gini. I suspect Hendo will get the nod before Fabinho. Other than that it picks itself.

Big test for Allison and the defence with Zaha's pace and trickery and that big grock Benteke. They'll deffo be trying to fling a load of crosses in to test us.

Quite nervous about this game actually.

There is a few Arsenal fans that might disagree with you if you claim they started well, or disagree if you claim they are not a Top six rival. Not sure which one you referred to.

They’ll be targeting Arnold and Gomez- they’d be crazy not to. Huge test for those lads, and they’ll need plenty of support from Milner and Hendo (if that’s who plays).

Can't believe the owl faced cunt was our manager. Tried explaining to the mrs this morning that he claimed a win at Everton would be utopia, she's was convinced I was making it up.

We better fucking win tonight, after all the abuse some idiot fans have been giving to Utd fans. Otherwise we'll look like a right load of stupid cunts.

It is understandable that some of our fans are nervous. It is the type of game we have been struggling in earlier given all factors like midtable team, we are fav's, other rivals have played well and won, monday night etc etc.

But there is all reason for Crystal Palace to be a bit worried themselves.

Hodgson is not known for his defensive solidity I guess?
Liverpool has shown extreme form of late by beating ManCity 2-1, ManU 4-1, Napoli 5-0, Torino 3-1 and West Ham 4-0 in their 5 latest games.
The players who came late from World Cup has strengthened Liverpool even further.
Liverpool has had a good week of rest since last game.
A few new names at Liverpool make them even more unpredictable.

It is more open than I like, but I would rather stand in our corner than theirs.

I agree with the Fabinho shout. He will be able to cover the channels more effectively than Gini. That will give us extra cover for TAA and Gomez’s unenviable task of restraining Zaha, and a bit more height to deal with Benteke dropping into midfield for flick ons.

Tough away games like this is where leagues can be won. Picking up all three points and having a solid win would give us a real boost going into the next home game.

A lot of focus on Zaha, but beyond that who is going to really hurt us? Benteke is gash, Sahko at the back. As long we can get forward we will create chances. I can't believe Klopp doesn't have a plan for Zaha, and he will ensure TAA has the cover ready if he needs it.

But we do need the win, I work with a Manc and have been very quiet this morning, I need to gloat

Benteke has scored plenty of goals against Liverpool

I'm mostly concerned about Benteke in all honesty. He has scored for fun against us several times.
That time he just walked through our entire team as a Villa player and scored at Anfield.
He cant finish for shite for 36 games per year, but the 2 against us, every time...

If we're talking about how much he's been available recently, then yeah. I don't think he ever was regularly injured though was he? But if we're talking about the likes of Sturridge and Lallana being finished (as Pat has often alluded to), then I don't think you can then sing the praises of the quality of Clyne and compare him more favourably to TAA, when Clyne has missed a good two years of football. It's only the same deal, we're basing his quality on yesteryear. In the here and now, TAA has been by and large an excellent surprise in that position and Clyne has it all to do to win his place back.

It's a good dilemma though.

Clyne was often the only bright spot in said defence.

And let's not pretend VVD is the reason for the up turn.

TAA played all season. By the way I'm a fan of TAA but I prefer Clyne at RB

Benteke is a danger for them. However it is more than 3 years since he was a handy player for Villa, getting a goal every second game. Since then he has not been on fire.

Haha fuck me Dreamy 😀

Anyway same negative moaning minnies as usual. We're going to fuck them over something rotten. 1-3 at least, maybe 0-3 or 1-4.
