I think I heard the Olympics is this year and that Salah and Konate might be going to it and that the club has a bit of a battle to prevent them going as it will mean that those players will effectively miss a significant part of the pre season training.

So far possible players for Olympics that I've heard are:

Konate
Salah

For AFCON (January 2022) Matip excluded we are set to lose all our African players.

How will this affect our chances of success next season?

What’s our preseason plans like this season?
I assume not many international tours lined up.
Not too worried about Salah missing preseason with us particularly as he often doesn’t look great preseason anyway but would be nice to have Kanote to get used to the system etc.

I doubt the club will release them for the Olympics with participation requiring the club's acquiescence and also with the pandemic still widespread in Japan.

Not too worried about the Olympics. But AFCON if it goes forward is a major issue. It could be one of the reasons why we may not be that enthusiastic about Bissouma as a Gini replacement and preferred Jota over Sarr.
