Big loss this. Milner has got zero discipline to keep his position (ala Gerrard), Allen has done ok lately, and then we have Lucas and THAT'S it. Stewart?

Fuck. This is a major major blow to our Europa League hopes.

Is Stewart in the squad for the Europa?

Nope...

Oh, it's Lucas time.

So we've got a midfield of Lucas, Allen and Milner until the end of the season. Actually that might not be bad, as long as the attack keeps functioning as it has been lately. If Coutinho, Sturridge and Origi can stay fit, I'd go with that in every game until the end of the season, Firmino and Lallana in reserve.

Time for Allen to start putting in 90 minute performances. We'll see if he's worth a contract extension

Lucas isn't the answer.

I've tried to put the mockers on Bournemouth by betting £20 on them to win tomorrow at 5/2. I just have a feeling that we will have trouble picking ourselves up after Thursday's heroics.

The only positive I can think of is that Villareal won't have a physical bruising midfield to take much advantage of the lack of physicality in our midfield.

Soriano and Trigueros who play in midfield for Villareal are very much in the Lucas and Allen mould of passers rather than bruisers.

He underwent a scan yesterday and the results indicated ruptured ligaments which could sideline him for up to six weeks.

However, Press Association Sport understands Liverpool's medical team are hopeful the lay-off will only be four weeks, meaning the Germany international would have a chance of making the Europa League final should the club get past Villarreal in the last four.

Emre Can to miss rest of domestic season with ankle injury
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can‘s domestic season is over after he was ruled out for at least four weeks with ruptured ankle ligaments.

The 22-year-old limped off in Thursday’s dramatic Europa League win over Borussia Dortmund and left Anfield on crutches with his right foot in a protective boot.

It is the second injury blow in a week as fellow midfielder, and captain, Jordan Henderson damaged knee ligaments in the first leg against Dortmund and was also ruled out for the rest of the season.

If we get past Villareal, and meet Sevilla in the final, we'll need someone to battle that cunt Nzonzi.

This is a major blow for us, as Can has been our most consistent player over the last few months, and had bee our most important midfielder.
I really hope he can recover in time for the Europa league final should we get past Villareal.
He's a strong lad, so here's hoping.

I'm sure they can get hold of some breast milk to speed up his recovery. That stuff is supposed to work wonders.

Bummer

When we get to the final, and when we win, just make sure he knows that the John Terry approach is not cool.

Off-topic I know, but guess who had a tenner on Borini to score first in Norwich v Sunderland at 17/2?

I really like Borini - I reckon that if he were playing in front of a top class midfield, he would score loads of goals.

That is totally disastrous.
