We'll lose to the scum but it'll be close. We'll beat Norwich and Arsenal and draw against City. 7 points will be nice out of these fixtures.

He was 4 v 1 during the second free kick (the one Reina saved), Skittles deserves a lot of the blame for ball watching. I don't know who else was at fault without watching the goal again, but it blatantly wasn't Wisdom (unless he was playing them onside, which I don't think he was as I think he was in-line with the 2 other defenders, but if he was I will happily stand corrected).

EDIT: Found the video, he was in line. Seriously, what were you expecting him to do in that position

Nah I'm happy to be corrected; seeing it from this angle then he's not to be blamed, like you said. I didn't see that angle somehow in my stream and at that time it looked to me like he was napping as the ball was played behind him. Do you have a similar shot for the first one (McClean pulling his shot wide)?

No, don't have that one. I can't really remember it either tbh. That one stuck in my head due to Reina's save and the insane positioning of some of our defenders.

And, now I've watched it again I realise he was 5 v1. How on earth was our defence so badly outnumbered

My guess is we were going to play them off side, but Wisdom and Johnson (it appears to me) kept them on. Johnson had made a big loop behind all the other defenders and the opponents to go back to his position on the left, and in the process he was playing everyone on. Seems like lack of leadership / shouts there from whoever was supposed to be organizing everyone.

I can't make out who it was, but someone came across with Johnson and just left Wisdom by himself. Johnson perhaps should have held his position rather than coming back over to left back, as Downing was covering for him. But there was a lot wrong with that defending and it would be unfair to single out one person I think. Great save by Reina though.

We should really come out of that only 3 points from the Norwich game. It would be a bad result to not win that one.

We are not as good as United, City or Arsenal so getting anything out of those games would be good, but losing all three wouldn't be worth getting worked up over. The fact that they are all together though (coupled with the other fact that we have failed to win loads of games we should have won) would make it look a lot worse though!

hello massively midtable in feb.

we'd do well to get 4-5 points.

anything more than that will be off saurez and gerrard simultaneously being beastly

  1. Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of action for another two weeks with a knee injury sustained in training on Christmas Day, and will miss next week's game against Liverpool. "Wayne is still injured," said manager Sir Alex Ferguson. "It is not serious but it is going to take longer than we thought, probably another two weeks. He won't be fit for Liverpool."
Now it's gonna be even easier

Tbh I'd prefer Rooney to play. Hernandez and van persie are fucking lethal. Rooney isn't

To give some perspective on how close the league is, had we beaten stoke, and villa, as we should have, we'd be in forth. (and no your aunt isn't your uncle).

Anyway, five out of 12. One win, two draws, and a loss. Five points. Draw City, Utd, lose to Arse, beat the Anglicans.

So your saying we are not even close to fourth spot?

Actually, it's a typo, should have been FIFTH!

Ill give you that the league is tighter over the last two seasons. Just a shame that we haven't been able to capitalize on the others mistakes. We should have cemented the CL place last season, and this season it should have been within sight already. Still the Feb-April games is to be played and if we maintain the nice form you never know.
