Minamino

Lets hope he continues to play like this until the end of season, and can contribute for us next season.
He should have been contributing this fucking season, but klopp didn't want him to

Every assist/goal he scores will just make the decision to loan him out (and not use him) look ridiculous.

Especially with Origi doing fcukall.

He probably tripled his sell-on price with that goal. Nice to see him getting a chance. This is clearly what he needed and I hope he will be able to slot into our side better next season.

Good news. Loan spell to get him more game time, prove himself. Good that he is doing that already. If it shows us up a little, suck it up - for a greater cause. Not many positive comments on here for Minamino while he was with us, so let's not get all hindsight-y now.

Agree with Mark and Woland. He's a far more Liverpool player than Origi. The thing is, Klopp wasn't picking him when Firmino was abysmal at the start of the year, nor when we were in a goal draught. In that context a loan move is better for everybody, but I find it a bit baffling it's come to this. Hopefully he scores enough goals for Klopp to develop increased faith in his abilities.

Finished like Aguero today. He needs to keep it up.

I dunno. When Ox and Origi were coming on the other night I was thinking this should be Jones and Minamino. To have such a good game against Palace and then be ignored and loaned out makes zero sense
Thats the weird bit... he looked the part against Crystal Palace. He didn't just score, he also showed great movement and link up play. He seemed to bring the best out of Firmino too. He looked ready to provide something. And boom not a look in while the team goes on our worst run under Klopp. All the other fringe attackers got a look in but not him. It was so weird that maybe something has just gone on that we don't know about. Origi is never the more suited player for our team, imo.

He’s a strange player though, he looks like he doesn’t know how to tackle / challenge or leverage what body weight he has at all. There’s other weirdness i can’t quite put my finger on.

I think Minamino is shit as well, like, but I'm not 100% certain. Which is why it baffles me that he hasn't been given a chance

He seems far too timid, like a player returning from a long injury lay off

You mean we signed a wierdo ?

We played Minamino most this season when the team was in its 'play the ball wide and whip it in' mindset which obviously won't work with him in the middle. He is a significantly better option than Origi for his movement and close control, but for whatever reason we haven't used him quite right or he hasn't learned out system. The run in behind for the goal is not something I can remember him doing for us yet - have we even tried to get him to do that? He appears to have all the attributes to be Bobby mk. 2 in the false nine.

I suspected that's exactly why he was brought in, to be Bobby's understudy, but he looks way too lightweight and doesn't really have the vision of Firmino. Firmino gives a decent combination of the classic centre foward role and the number nine role. He holds the ball up well and he's got great awareness of what's going on around him to make things happen quickly, but he's not really a specialist in either role, he doesn't have the vision of a Silva nor the power of a typical centre foward, but he has enough in both areas to be difficult to play against and pick up. I don't really foresee Minamino growing into having that same kind of impact, because his natural qualities in both of those respects are lacking.

I think he is too weak to do what Bobby does.
Bobby is put under a lot of pressure and has to hold off quite a few challenges in tight traffic when he is linking play.

Football terminology has passed me by at some point in the last 30 years. I thought the number nine role was the classic centre forward. Maybe I'm muddling it up with the classic 8.75/withdrawn 10/double pivot role

No, it's me muddling it up with the playmaker type role.

He did fuck all for us in a year, goes to another club and does that in his first match? How is nobody pissed off? The motherfucker is dead to me now. He should be dead to us all. The idea of using him to berate Origi, whose god like contribution has been so quickly forgotten, is baffling. Fuck him, glad he got loaned out and hopefully we never see him again. Cunt.

Werner described his new role under Tuchel as a "left 10" in yesterday's post match interview. Lol.

I think it's quite disgusting what you said. Just because a player we signed for just 8m didn't go on and scored at least 10 goals the season doesn't mean you should say things like this. He was never bought to be a top player straight away he was bought to be a backup for the wings or striker if needed. Klopp the man we put all our trust into scouted him in the games we played against him at Salzburg where he played really well and was the stand-out player and I was thinking if he played for a better team I wonder what he could do. He moved to a new country, a new language, new players, new staff everything like that. Even the Liverpool players wanted him in. It was obvious at the start he was not having a good time he was not fully settled into the team and was quite the outsider and when playing with the main players that can affect performance especially with the high standards that were put on him. He is better than origi and should have played more but we didn't cant change that. If he does well at Southampton it will boost his confidence and skills and market value. He will probs won't be the top player like salah but we didn't buy him for that he could be an amazing super sub. The loan will only prove if he is premier league quality and so far he has shown that he can be. If he plays 15 games gets at least 5 goals and 5-7 assist that's a good season. At first, I didn't like him but I didn't understand he wasn't fully on the team and good friends with the LFC players as the months went on he got better and he will only get better providing he is determined if he is not I can see it being a "fail transfer" but even if that happens we will still make a profit on him. Give him a chance

How do you make contingencies for the spate of injuries we've had. Let's say we had 4th choice CB there is no guarantee we would have kept him injury free. The major complaint against Lovren along with his brain fart moments is injury record.
The fact is we've dealt extraordinary spate of bad luck through injuries which has meant we had play our CMs as CBs thus losing our normal balance and shape.
Kabak wasn't ready on Sunday and he didn't play. Now it's upto the players to dig deep, and bounce back.
