"I don’t know how it came about, but after the win, Carolyn [Radford, CEO] and the chairman were congratulating me and said that they were looking forward to the big day – the wedding.

He added: "So the wedding is tomorrow and there’ll probably be one or two more cameras there now, but it’s something I’ll embrace and cherish."

A club spokesman added: "It's going to be a big three days for Paul!"

Funnily enough, it's not the first time that the top brass at Mansfield Town have hit the headlines over their romantic entanglements. In 2011 the club became world famous after employing a 29-year-old blonde - a former escort by the name of Carolyn Still - to become its CEO two years ago.

Still and multi-millionaire club chairman John Radford denied that she had been given the job for anything other than professional reasons. Two weeks later, Still became engaged to Radford; they got married last July.

Have you seen that CEO bird? She looks like a whore or a holiday rep, some sort of customer facing kinda slag with loads too much makeup, and she's with her very own Berlusconi, some old bastard with millions of till and a footy team. But rather than Milan it all looks well Royston Vasey.

Assaidi is away, no? Why wasn't Coates even on the bench against Sunderland?

I'd like both Sturridge and Suarez to start just to get some playing time together ahead of Old Trafford.

Not too fussed about the rest of the team other than more playing time for Shelvey and Suso.

Liverpool's Steven Gerrard will be spared FA Cup trip to Mansfield
• Luis Suárez may also be rested, but will travel to Field Mill
• New signing Daniel Sturridge not judged ready for a start

Brendan Rodgers is to leave out Steven Gerrard and possibly Luis Suárez for Liverpool's trip to Mansfield Town on Sunday but insists no risks will be taken against the Blue Square Premier side.
Gerrard has played every minute of every Premier League game this season and after a demanding spell of four matches in 10 days over the festive period will be omitted from the team at Field Mill. Leading goalscorer Suárez has also faced a gruelling workload, but with the new £12m signing Daniel Sturridge unlikely to start the third-round tie, the Uruguay international may be involved in some capacity. Jonjo Shelvey operated as a "false nine" when Suárez was suspended for the league win over West Ham United and offers an alternative, but Rodgers is confident Liverpool have the depth to avoid a major upset.
The Liverpool manager said: "This is one where I'm looking to utilise the squad. This is the nature of it coming on the back of four very tough games but I'll pick a group to win. That's the key. I am confident in the group and I would never risk the tie because this is a competition we want to do well in.
"Luis loves playing, that is why he is here: to play games and score goals. I speak a lot with him and I know from working with him that he wants to play. But he's coming off the back of a real busy period where he's given everything in the games and scored goals."
Jamie Carragher will play, but Sturridge, having not started a competitive game since 17 November in 2012 – when Chelsea lost at West Bromwich Albion in what proved to be Roberto Di Matteo's final league game as manager – is unlikely to be hurried into the side. The 23-year-old is, however, included in the squad.
Rodgers explained: "Daniel is still catching up a bit on his fitness because he has been out for a period of time. He's looked good in the couple of sessions we've had but I'm not looking to rush Daniel into anything. He is not under big pressure to come in and perform straightaway, in particular because of the form of the team at the moment."
His fellow defender Sebastián Coates may be allowed to leave Liverpool on loan in the transfer window providing there is necessary cover for Martin Skrtl and Daniel Agger, Rodgers has confirmed. He said: "It's been difficult for him to get games. The best thing for Sebastián will be to go out and play some games."

Great idea to loan Coates out.

Probably because he's a solid back up, whereas Coates has made a few mistakes
Carra has also made a few mistakes this season, but it's beside the point.
Coates is our young up coming defender, he should be getting these minutes Carra is getting, despite his mistakes.

It's a bit like last season when Kenny despite Carragher fucking up in every other game refused to play Coates ahead of him.

I'm looking forward to this game.

By all accounts we'll be playing with a fake number 9, a reverse winger, an inverted full back and a ball playing keeper.

I have no fucking idea what that's supposed to look like.

Sounds like a fluid, reverse, split-cycle semi-automatic system to me.

That..... or we're using an air-conditioner.

There must be something else to explain why Coates hasn't been getting any time on the pitch - like the talk of him being unsettled. Perhaps we've just decided that he's off and we'd rather give Carra some more appearances.

If we do get another young CB, it'll be interesting to see whether he suffers the same fate because looking at it objectively it's kinda absurd to give all the time to a player on the decline as opposed to a player on the up that genuinely needs that time.

Something's going on with Coates.

Me he muttered something under his breath at one on Brendan's motivational team meetings.

Or maybe..... His name is in the envelope!!!!!!!

Carra has also made a few mistakes this season, but it's beside the point.

Course he should, because it's Jamie Carragher isn't it.

Ha that really is a joke.
Coates is making more mistakes than Carra but he's young so it's o.k.
If his name was John Flanagan it would be a different story.
Modo gets a hard on for all the non British boys.

id rather see carra as back up as he's looked solid and it's ok for him to not get much game time, coates getting regular playing time would mean he'll be able to take over from agger or skrtel eventually

Mansfield Town boss to marry girlfriend before FA Cup tie with Liverpool

Will Buckley, Gary Cahill, Ross Barkley, Wilshere etc etc etc.
So yeah that's bull.
Also I've been advocating our youth and reserve players for years.
Forget Coates, give those minutes to Wisdom or Kelly when he returns, maybe even McLaughlin and Robinson. Just don't waste a substitution on Carra.
