Post Match Man United 2-2 - Sunday 5th January

Not the worst result but sometimes you get what you deserved and we didn’t deserve anything more than a point.

Same old forgetful first halves of nothingness costing us again.

Well everyone is saying a draw was a fair result ... however the xG was something like 2.97 to 1.13. We should have won.

Half of the team showed up for the game the other half were all over the place doing nothing. The ones who showed up Virgil,Macca,Gravy,Gakpo and Salah.
The rest were shit .

Besides the pen, Salah was shit.

Ibou was the best player on the pitch and he’s been out for 52 years.

Under the circumstances of: Arsenal drawing, Chelsea drawing, match in snow & rain against a wounded rival… a point is ok. We deserved to lose.

Disasterclass from Trent.

Slow to lock in the 2-1 from Slot. Could have sent on Endo & Quansah and shut the whole thing down.

Onwards.

Today is the first time I've been disappointed in Slot (but I'll get over it because he has loads of credit in the bank). Trent was having a nightmare, nothing was coming off, he was being relentlessly targeted defensively, his positional sense was all over the place and his head went. The latter stages of that game he looked like he was having a mental breakdown.
Bradley should have been on a lot sooner, Slot was too patient.

Agreed. I think the fact it’s Trent stopped him doing the right thing. Could have sent any of Bradders, Quansah or Endo on plug that hole.

We praise Slot's in-games management a lot, but when Amorim subbed Mainoo that should have been the cue to send in Endo and Bradley because we had too many attackers on the pitch. Would have slowed the game down a bit.

Good comments from Slot. Acknowledging that Trent didn't have a great game but defusing the impact of the contact situation.

Unfortunately, didn't get to hear his thoughts tactically because that doesn't generate headlines the way asking questions about Trent will.

In hindsight that looks pretty obvious but at the time I think we were about to turn it up and rip them apart.

I was going through this myself when i walked the dog now. First time I was disappointed in Slot. At 2-1 we should have shored up midfield and sat back. Maybe endo, and hooked trent of course. Instead he stayed on, as they brought on garnacho to run at him and we also were open rather than letting the game just fade out.

I think donkey wanted to get sent off intentionally.

He knew what he was doing when he elbowed that fella and he's only been on for a few mins.

which makes me think his head's gone too. i doubt he's a positive influence in the dressing room. Ship him out asap, his pram and his toys too.

It's possible Bradley didn't have the legs for anything too intense and was held off as long as possible?

Let's talk about the opposition. Are they a football club or a debating society? That Bruno cunt talks to the ref more than I talk to my missus. But they were the better side for the last half hour. Taking Jones off was a mistake, they ran the midfield after that. Massive shock even typing that but I dunno what Slot was thinking. Replace like for like fair enough but we lost a central midfielder for a donkey and that lifted them.

Obv Trent was complete wank and should have been hooked at half time and definitely Slot's worst match for in game changes.

crying? he got smacked in the face with the ball when he crossed and martinez blocked it, the right side of his face and that eye were all red.
