With the first team back in training on Friday the new season preparations begin

July 5: First teamers not involved in Copa/Euros return to training
July 23: Squad flies to States

July 27: Liverpool vs Real Betis - Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, kick-off 12.30am UK time
July 31: Liverpool vs Arsenal - Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, kick-off 7pm local time (12.30am August 1 UK time)

[Early August] Players involved in Euros/Copa return to training

August 3: Liverpool vs Man Utd - Brice Stadium, South Carolina, kick-off 12.30am August 4 UK time
August 11: Liverpool vs Sevilla - Anfield, kick-off 3pm

We have a nice bunch of first teamers who will come back on 5th July which I hope will pay off at the start of the season when others are knackered. Probably missing some out but:

Curtis
Elliot
Salah
Endo
Quansah
Bradley
Bajcetic
Carvalho
Clark

Having a fresh midfield, especially Curtis, Endo, Elliot could be incredibly powerful from the opening weekend.

Others who might return early having dropped out

Robertson
Szobo

Bunch of kids too e.g. Doak, Williams, Ramsay, Danns, van Den Berg, Morton, Gordon, Koumas

Salah is gonna be on fire when the season starts. New hairdo and rested all summer.

Isn’t he fucking off to the olympics?
It's U23's isn't it?

[edit:]

Men’s football at the Olympics is an under-23 competition but nations are allowed to name three over-aged players in their squad.

The Olympic football competition also doesn’t feature on the FIFA calendar, thus leaving it up to the respective clubs to decide if they want to release their players for the Games.

I hope we tell him to fuck off if he wants to play in an amateur tournament. We can't be paying someone 400k a week and allowing them to jeopardise theirs and ours start to the season for that bollocks.

Hal's mate was saying on the Echo podcast that:

1) there is no obligation to release him as it is not a FIFA endorsed competition
2) we have already told them to f off
3) Salah has no interest in going

Which means he’s off to Paris.

Never understood old footballers going to the Olympics to babysit a bunch of kids. It's weird.

Unless you're James Milner.

Sepp has the look of teen who's been coerced into his attending his little sister's ballet performance and is desperately looking for the exit doors before anyone recognises him.

Let's see how he does. Will be disappointed if Fabio can't take this opportunity to make an impact prior to the 'big boys' returning

Fabio sat around the table with some creepy bastard looming over him.

"I don't know who you are, please leave me alone" *10 seconds later* "Has he fucked off yet Conor?"

It's noticeable how good Harvey is at pressing and intercepting – can really see him developing into a well-rounded #8.

Good to see Bajcetic fully fit and so tall. He has the right body shape for a DM 🙂
Nyoni looks like he’ll be ready in a season or two…top talent.. some nice touches from Fabio too…

The Boy improved on that immensely as last season progressed.
