At least we have got our poor half out of the way before the last 45.

Dull and uninspiring. Most of our attacks were coming down the left with Moses showing glimpses at times but having zero help by Sakho who looks uncomfortable for obvious reasons.
Can someone tell me why were playing four centre backs in a flat back four?
Are Enrique and Wisdom injured?

We had the better chances and should have got a penalty but we also need to do more in the 2nd half. Moses is playing well but isn't getting much help from Sakho who understandably doesn't look very comfortable going forward. Maybe we'll see Enrique come in at some point.

Aspas was awful that 45 but if Moses squared his chance he'd have had a tap in.

1. We are just too one paced, slow, on the ball. On the couple of occasions when we have upped the pace we have looked that much more dangerous.
2. I thought Sakho was in to counter Lambert at set-pieces, yet he is marking Osvaldo, so what is the point ? We are really missing Enrique.
3. Pushing Sturridge right and bringing Aspas more central has done nothing but isolate Studge from the game (he doesn't look fit or able to run at full pelt though). He looks so much more involved and dangerous when he comes central. Aspas more involved but hasn't done much.
4. Fuck off referee you blind cunt.
5. Ming is the fucking 'worst' distributor of the ball I've ever seen ! One day he's going to get caught on the ball and concede a goal. He doesn't see players that are open and can't kick to save his life, give credit to Southampton for noticing this and applying huge pressure every time Ming has the ball.

Strange team and they are playing like one. There is no coherence at the moment, Southampton look much more like a team.

We had four CBs as a back four in the Treble season and it worked, but that was under GH who set his teams up to play in a very different style from the one Rodgers prefers (plus one of the CBs in question was big Sami). Not entirely sure why he's gone that route today.
I was thinking that. Loan for Remy vs 7.2 mill for Aspas. So far we all know which is the better deal.
He'll be saying the same himself. And before anyone asks "Sturridge or The Lord?" - both of them. 😉
