I'd agree with the commentator, feels like these are the two centre halves Rodgers will go with. Thought that before today too.
 
Has Sterling bulked up, or is he Wolverine? That is the second guy I've seen him hip-and-shoulder off the ball...
 
I don't think Coutinho's shooting is anywhere near as bad as people make out. As much as anything he just takes too many shots on.

He's ok and he'll get better. IMO he can go on to be a good goalscoring MF. 8-10 a year.

Well the point is that we can't always play the same 11, and will inevitably need to make changes during games so epic to have top notch players to come in. The choice between Lazar, Lallana, Sterling and Coutinho will be a headache for Rodgers!
 
Haha, was Henderson asking Gerrard who's hitting the freekick? He just got completely ignored.
 
Did anyone at BT sport look at Gareth Bales face before they decided on him being the face of their football adverts?
 
Lovely performance so far. Coutinho: just take him off before Barca tap him up. Outrageous talent. Gerrard: they say he has more time now to pick his long diagonal passes, but so do defenders have more time to anticipate them, so he should be very economical with them. Good general performance though. Lovren has been out of position a few times but he's been pretty solid otherwise and scored a good goal. Sterling is crazily good for his age - imagine if we'd just signed him for a fortune from some other club, we'd all be raving about what a fantastic deal it is. Incredible prospect. Now get Lambert on and let him get that first goal.
 
I can see Can losing place to Lallana or Allen...please give lad some time, he is just 20 playing in CM, little bit overwhelmed by playing at anfield

It's ridiculous that the age limit is set at 23 or under at the beginning of the season. Eden Hazard (23 in January this year) and Aaron Ramsey (24 later this year) still qualify for it FFS. It'll probably be these two plus Coutinho and Sterling fighting it out.
 
I assume Reus is now on the pitch signing his deal in front of a packed crowd?

Did Hummels play in their previous games? I'd think he'd have just returned from the post-World Cup final break. Are the last two fit yet? Just read that Gündogan is expected to miss the start of the season after his surgery.
