I think the CL result does actually have an impact today.
If we hadn't have won it'd mean the players would be under immense pressure as it was their only chance at anything, yet know that it still wasn't in their own hands.
The atmosphere would have been arguably as much nerves as anything, for the fans it would be the same. Of course there'll still be loads of nerves today, but knowing we have Madrid in a few weeks after thinking we'd lost the chance will mean there's a good reason to celebrate, & hopefully help generate a great atmosphere of defiance & celebration.
Then you have the effect on that lot in Brighton. Their team & fans will once again be thinking "They just won't go away, they don't fucking stop, we just can't seem to beat this fucking side". If that introduces just a bit of doubt or nerves in the side & the fans it may, just may, be enough to spoil their attitudes & their game.
