Liverpool V Sunderland Match Thread

Why would it distract Sunderland? They're our fans walking out on our team. Of course it distracted us. It also gives them a real sniff of a win when we let a goal in and have to watch our fans stream out by the thousands. It's gonna demoralise any team. A team that's low on confidence is only more likely to mess up. Blame the individual errors of course, they're the main culprit, but to think the walkout made no difference is naive at best.

You did say our fans walked out on the team. Read your own post

Poor professional multi millionaires were affected. Bless. In reality they're just fucking shit.
That's bollocks. We were all planning our league winning celebrations not long ago, and come next season when all is rosier, two thirds of that squad will still be playing and we won't be calling them shit then. Some perspective would be ace. Naughty Sheikh.

Some realism would be...acer.

Yeh exactly. The walked out on the team when they needed them. It's not what they were protesting against, but the bottom line is that the team needs its 12th man and they walked out on them when they needed them. Not because of them.

I don't think it's worth trying anything with you. You just keep your head in the sand and blame the fans for the teams shortcomings.
Not at all, but it's very cosy for folk to do that and not accept some of the blame when it goes tits up.

I don't believe the walkout impacted upon the team.

And I don't the walk out would have happened if the team was flying.

Paying a higher price becomes a lot more disgusting when you know it's lining these players pockets, because they are fucking shit.

Yeh it possibly wouldn't have happened.

I don't play in Liverpools defence and I don't get paid millions to be there. I pay for the privilege of going and if I wan't to walk out then I will. It's the first time I've ever left early and I've had season ticket since 1988 and have been going since 1982 so who are you to try and blame me.

You pay your price and have every right to come and go as you please. Just as I have every right to have an opinion. In my opinion, it affected the team. It's that simple really.
And to be fair, that's all it is. An opionion. Nobody knows for sure whether it made a toss of difference or not.

It really is.

I dunno mate. Honestly I think a top notch keeper, central defender and striker and we would easily make top four next season.
We've been battered with injuries, and a change in manager and are struggling to adapt to his way of playing and training.
Once he's had a preseason and a few of his own signings, things will look very different.

So a brand new spine of top class players and we'll be okay... who wouldn't be...

You are entitled to your opinion but it's unfair to blame the fans as they don't play the game the players do and it's nothing new that they aren't good enough.

What, the club have discovered brain and talent transplants?

Mate, if you're thinking I am saying the draw is down to the fans, I'm not. I'm just saying I think it had an effect. Was that completely to blame, no, of course not.

It's also naive to believe the fans, the player and the manager do not affect each other with their words and actions. A legendary manager mentioned that in his holy trinity quote.

Can someone who watched the match on TV please tell how the fuck that first goal went in?!

From the angle I was at (main stand about halfway line) it looked like the ball had hit the side netting & Mignolet dived to make sure it went wide. Then the ball rolled around the net.

So WTF?! Did he dive too late, or it go under him or something?

He's was beyond awful today. Absolutely fucking shite.

He just didn't get down quick enough and it seemed to squirm under him. It was truly wank.

If he's our keeper next season, we'd might as well not bother.

If he really is to be our first choice keeper next season, then I really will begin to question Klopps transfer strategy.

Cheers.

I couldn't believe how astonishingly bad he was today. Even the off the ball stuff. He shouts at defenders & they just completely fucking ignore him, he carries no power or weight within that side at all.

His distribution is as poor as I've even seen from any keeper. Ever. Including myself, & mine was goddamn awful.

First game I've been to this season & I have to say, the big positive thing that I noticed was Firmino's work rate off the ball. That lad puts a real shift in.
