Kenny's finest hour so far in his return. Tactical ambition that paid off in getting the best out of Johnson and allowing Kuyt to do what we forgot he does best. Football was excellent at times and a smile around Anfiled despite the loss of the prodigal child.

*applauds*

Ugh SG why are you ruining it by mentioning him in this thread?

Scummy Spurs win though, only downer of the night

I was thinking that before the game, but didn't say it. I don't care what team Kenny puts out now, I'll be confident it can do the job.

Come on Mr. V - you don't see Gerrard smiling all the time, or Carra. They're not robots - sometimes they don't smile, especially after giving up a point blank shot ...

kuyt masterclass of hold up play
He reminded me tonight of Mark Hughes at his best.

Shame he won't be playing up front again for a while in a few weeks. I hope he is happy to be part of 3 man striking squad (exclude wash) unless he goes back on the wing

Well done Dirk, superb MOTM

Great team performance. We had players all over the pitch who were willing to get on the ball and also work their socks off to win it back.

Bring on the cockney cunts

Yep, I had issues with the lineup and was completely wrong. Stoke set themselves up horribly though, and really didn't bother attacking in the least bit.

Lucas's improvement this season is superb
He wasn't amazing. Happily lose him for a proper DM and give more freedom to the rest.

...

I agree about Reina, for some reason he wasn't enjoying th party. He'll be off in the summer.

No point worrying about it. I trust Dalglish to find a suitable replacement.

...

Suarez is the new poster boy

Kuyt's played a blinder today.
Indeed. He's slightly better as a forward than as a right midfielder. What ever next?

I had my doubts about kenny being so long out of the game but his tactics were absolutely spot on and should be applauded. totally nullified stokes threat and then opened them up with the passers in the middle of the park (aurelio, gerrard, meireles).

aurelio proves what a class player he is.
kuyt was excellent at holding up the ball.
Kuyt was always available to receive it. What a difference it makes when your striker is working the oppositions back line and making space for himself and others.

They tried but they simply couldn't.

Their midfield was non-existent cos we played from the back, making long through balls from the back.

Also, Carew was hunted with packs of three and they had nobody to pass to in attack.

They didn't know how to counter the way we were setup to play.

Great stuff.

Great performance, dont get carried away though, stoke were rubbish! Big test on sunday! Loving Suarez already! Hopefully Carroll can follow suit!

You guys are reading too much into Pepe's expressions imo. He was just annoyed we were a bit sloppy defensively after the 2nd goal.

why are people so concerned about reina? for shit's sake ... not every player is like nandough ... he'll stay

Guilty by association

ding ding ding ... keepers think about clean sheets ... do you think gerrard would be smiling if he missed an open net and we were winning?

I won't be surprised if he leaves in the summer.
I love Pepe more than I loved any of our other Spaniards and it will hurt alot.
I only hope that if he leaves he goes back to Spain.

I never doubted Kenny.

I knew he'd bring back the Scottish Passing Game
