He means the Sakho comment.

Leave it be, Mark. It's not worth it. He's not worth it. He's that nasty little bleeder we've all come across on the football field who'll go around kicking or spitting on the blind side of the ref and then protest his innocence when his victims get annoyed. He's the Michael Brown of 6CM.

lol at people who are so deluded that buying a CB will solve our problems. We have a problem concerned with our system, tactisc being played as a team. Not saying at all, I support Skrtel or any defender in particular because we have to surely move ON and improve. But at the same time, BR needs work on our defense more. I would keep both Skrtel and Agger and buy another highly rated young CB who can come on low wages and slot in our defense when required, play at highest level and will be a WC defender for us in next 1-2 seasons

I will mate. It's a shame because when he's being normal he's great and he provides alot of useful info and videos. It's just a shame his alter-ego is such a bellend.

There's mention in another thread of the possibility of Sami Hyypia coming back as a coach. I'd love to see what he could make of our existing CBs.

I think we'll see movements among the centre-halves. We have problems with individuals not the system. We shipped 50 goals in the league last season, and very few of them were because the opposition attackers playing blinders. Most of the goals were gifts from dreadful squares passes in front of the box, back-passes when a forward pass was on and some truly awful own goals; that is less of a system problem and more of individual concentration. Certainly, Rodgers seems to think so, and I reckon he will address that, most probably by getting rid of players who he feels don't concentrate enough for 90 minutes. We are likely to concede two goals after conceding one with Crystal Palace as painful a demonstration of lack of organisation as you will ever see.

I keep wondering why we are constantly being linked with Ashley Williams, and now I am beginning to think I know why. He's probably as good as what we have but will likely maintain concentration and sniff out danger. Above all, he is a leader and an organiser. We need that, and we need that badly..

Interesting post but I take issue with it in a couple of respects. One - some of those individual errors seemed to me to be the direct result of our insistence on looking to keep the ball moving and attack at every opportunity. Individual concentration is certainly part of it, but the system and the way we implement it need looking at too IMHO. Two - Ashley Williams is OK and a good leader, but (a) I don't agree he's even as good as our current CBs, let alone any better, and (b) after what he said about Suarez over the Evra fiasco I cannot see how he could fit into our squad even if he were.

Hmmm ...I still think that the biggest problem with our defenders is how quickly and, often, slovenly, they want get rid of the ball at the first hint of pressure. I have watched a few times when Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling and Henderson press our opponents. They are quite often still able to recycle the ball quite well, mainly because they are well aware of who and what is going on around them at all times, meaning that our attackers have had to produce moments of absolute invention to grab us goals. Yet our defenders at the first hint of danger make all sorts of basic errors and from them we have conceded goals. It has happened far too frequently last season and I think the defenders have been getting any easy pass with the system getting blamed. For the record, all defenders make mistakes and score own goals, look at John Terry's spectacular against Crystal Palace albeit under genuine pressure or Kompany's against Fulham, but our count of both reflects either poor quality players, lousy concentration or a combination of both.

I agree about Williams, the person, being a bit of a cnut-- but the relevant point I was making is that he wouldn't make any more errors than we are already making while at the same bringing much better organisation to the defence.

[article=http://www.football-italia.net/49736/reina-future-after-world-cup]Pepe Reina has insisted that he will only think about his club future after the World Cup is done.

The goalkeeper has been named in Spain’s 30-man squad for the tournament in Brazil, and is expected to be the final 23 that goes to South America.

Having been on loan from Liverpool at Napoli last season, the shot-stopper has maintained that he will talk with his parent club later in the summer about a potential switch away permanently.

“Right now I am just thinking about the national team,” he told Cadena SER. “With regards to a new club, first I’ll have to talk with Liverpool.”

Reina has been heavily linked with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, as well as a permanent move to the Partenopei.

“There’s been nothing from Barcelona. They have only just bought Ter Stegen – so that position is filled.

“And I haven’t been in contact with Atletico Madrid. Anyway, I’m sure there’ll be desperate to keep hold of Courtois.”[/article]
