I'm puzzled about Kelly. What's gone wrong there? A year ago he seemed better than Flanagan, both defensively and going forward. Now Flanno is the great white hope and Kelly seems to have fallen by the wayside.
Head is gone.
He admitted in an interview about a year ago that he fears getting injured when he goes on to the pitch.
Shame really he could have been excellent.

Kelly looked OK in the post-season friendly against Shamrock Rovers. He even scored quite a good goal.

Has RAWK blown up yet on the news that Lucas is to be binned off?

I just checked; from what I can guage about 40% agree with selling him, about 40% are spouting the revisionist bollox that he has only lost form and become surplus to requirements because his injuries and about 20% want to keep him.

There's no quotes about leavers in the reports on this topic but I assume the club has put this out quietly to solicit some bids for players we are making available.

Whilst I agree with the position, I can't help but feel sorry for the players - especially Lucas who's popular and put heart and soul into the club through some pretty rough times for him.

It's also made me think about putting out announcements that some of my shit staff are "available".

Transfer stories never have quotes, that's the nature of them. They're either made up or come from sources who can't be named.

Honestly I wouldn't be against selling Lucas due to him not being so versatile, but it would be a bit disappointing, more so regarding Agger.
Cause I still believe that he's our best defender.

Rodgers's comments about Kelly and Borini, at least, seems to indicate they are staying. I think that list is hogwash, except for the loanees who are returning to their parent clubs.

Anyway I don't thinking his talk of buying 7 players for the first team is the right way to go - simply because the more we buy, the less we'll have to spend on each player and therefore our returns will become more diminished.

We sell someone from the current squad only if we get a bid in excess of our valuation.

There are 3 key position to be filled without doing anything - LB, LW & AM - minimum £50m cost there

I'm just trying to make Ross feel better.

Anyway - I still think if we try to buy 7+ first teamers we will either do a "Spurs" and struggle to integrate or we'll end up compromising quality.

3 new first teamers + bring back Suso & Borini. I want us to spend £20m+ each on 3 key players that will immediately offer us something.

The only ones I'd let go, apart from those we had on loan are :

Coates - cause he's probably out of contract
Aspas - replaced by Borini
Asaidi - who isn't good enough.

Decisions to be made on Coady, Wisdom, Robinson, Alberto, Suso, McLaughlin, Ibe as to whether they'll are ready to command a first team position, could use another period out on loan gaining experience or whether we think they can't be developed further and should be cut.

What comments?

I was a big fan of Kelly when he was in the reserves and called Liverpool / England regular early. It's a shame things have turned out the way they have because I still think he had all the attributes to make it at Liverpool. As things stand, I'm not sure whether keeping him around for the odd cup game benefits either party.

He needs to go and play regularly somewhere, recover his confidence and make a name for himself. A loan or a sale with a buy back / sell on clause should really be on the cards.

We should definitely keep Wisdom and Ibe...and probably Suso.

André Wisdom is currently captain of the England Under-21 team. I don't remember him having a bad game for Liverpool so I would certainly hang on to him and see how he gets on.
