Carrick is a holding midfielder, Shelvey is comfortable around the box has good feet and can thread a ball through the defence.
He might not make it at the top level but he'll end up an attacking-mid for someone.

Fucking loved that tonight.
A few points:
-Wasn't it hilarious to watch Kelly jog back and run all over Pennant. I love how Kelly is now a first teamer.
-I trust Glen again, mabye it's the new hair cut, maybe he has upped his game but he's doing very well.
-Lucas showed great energy and passed it about.
-I love when Kuyt plays well, cause, erm.. I love Dirk.
-Raul cannot stop scoring and is belting them in. Long may it continue.
-Pep had one save to make and made it. Nice clean sheet.
-Agger strolled out from the back and was classy throughout.
-The Greek gave Carew a torid time and Carragher was on the bench which was encouraging for Sunday.
-Gerrard was doing his best to get Suarez involved and looked busy all game.
-Daglish is going to give Shelvey a lot of playing time this season. He looks confident on the ball and his decision making will improve with each game.
It's nice to be able to draw a lot of positives from a game.
