Liverpool v City, April 13 Massive Game Thread

In a heap with nerves. I can see one or two of our young players getting caught up with the occasion. I think City will win today. 1-2. Maybe we can nick a draw.

Whatever today will be, 'easy win' is extremely unlikely.

I really hope I'm wrong like, but an easy win would be a helluvan achievement considering who we're playing.

We scored 4 past Everton, who haven't been playing anywhere near as well as city, to put it into context.

You mean the Everton who've just won 7 games in a row?

Saw this photo on Twitter earlier and it just about brought a tear to the eye.

No other football club in the world garners the emotion in it's employees, players and fans like ours.

Good on you Rafa.

Their form is better than city's, but when we played them they weren't in as good form & they haven't gotten anywhere the levels of talent in their team.

I'm not saying we can't win 4-0, I'm just explaining why it's unlikely.

I think Sturridge is long overdue a massive performance - he was the missing ingredient against them at the etihad. I expect him to be unbelievably good as Kompany and co get all stressed about Suarez.

Hendo is overdue a goal too.

Hehe, listen to this.

Eat them goosebumps people.

Proper full on goosebumps.

The Anfield crowd need to be that good today. They will be. The players, they'll be better, cos as well as that side defended, this side can attack.

Nerves are completely shot. Going gym to burn off some energy so I can relax. My girlfriend says she's offended that I never get this stressed over her.

I argued (ok, more of a tiff) with Bex the other night trying to explain what the Newcastle match & celebrations could be like.

I used the words, "best day & night of my life, better than may 05" she unfortunately thought our wedding or the kids being born would have had that honour.

Tried to explain it like this, different feelings about those days, that night in 05 was sheer unadulterated joy & delight, whereas those other occasions are tempered with fears, expectations, nerves & you aren't surrounded by your peers all in the same state of jubilation.

That explanation actually worked, thank fuck.
