How good is he when fit?

2nd best striker in the league after Aguero? Top 10 striker in the world?

Once he gets to Barca and they start the blood spinning and shit his injuries will be a thing of the past.

If he stays free of injury he can be on par with Aguero. Potentially the best in Europe after the Messi/Ronaldo/Suarez.

Our defence seems to get the ball past the halfway line much quicker when Sturridge is on the side; plus fewer individual touches as well. Like that 3rd goal vs Villa.

What's everyone's take on Ings now? I remember when he joined, a few people were writing him off straight away as a waste of money, and that he "he looks like he's won the chance to play for a big club", that he lacked ambition wanting to take the heat off himself with his shirt number, etc.

He looks like a classic Liverpool player to me, a grafter who's not short of quality either. Following in the footsteps of players like Kuyt. I think he's a top lad too, perfect attitude on and off the pitch. The fans have taken to him straight away, same with Sakho, players with a bit of character and passion. It served players like Carragher and Henderson well, having that obvious desire to play and to work hard to improve.

I'm made up for him.

Agreed... His energy has made a difference, and if wasn't for a poor goalkeeper would have won us the game last weekend.

I've been pleased with Benteke too but in terms of the way we play I'm much happier to have Ings on the field.

On a further point, a different kind of player in some ways but.... Lambert arrived with the wrong attitude... A forgiveable mistake perhaps, but he arrived with it in his mind that he was the back up striker, that's not the attitude to have as a Liverpool player, you need to want the starting slot as your own and have the ambition. Ings is showing that he has just that with his determination.

I'm delighted to see it.

Yep, lets give up on him after 16 mins of league football. Thats how we nuture talent.
Who said anything about giving up on him? I'm just expressing an opinion. I will support him for as long as he's here. Which, if I'm right, will be for around two seasons.

He definitely is here.

With desire like that he has to start every week. I think he needs time to develop his technique but what he currently lacks there he more than makes up for in heart.
Gwan lad.

I didn't get to see him play for Burnley so he's been a pleasant surprise for me. He's got a fantastic attitude and work ethic. Whether he's got the quality to be a long-term success for us is still debateable, but he's started very well and has many of the right attributes to make a positive contribution to this football club for a long time.

One thing Ings is excellent at is taking a high through ball down with one touch. Lovely.

I think that's a stretch. The tier below Messi/Ronaldo/Suarez includes Aguero, Hazard, Benzema, Zlatan, Rooney (in his prime).

Each of those players have individually carried title-winning attacks. Is Sturridge that good? I don't think he is - he can be moody, drifts out of games, and struggles a bit when he plays as a lone striker.

He could get there of course if he can stay fit. The trouble is that even if he stays fit, he's already 26. And he's a player who relies a lot on his acceleration. So I'd say he has about a 2-3 year window to establish himself in that second tier .

If he does, we'll come close to winning a title again IMO.

I doubt he can though - he's too brittle.
