I think that's a stretch. The tier below Messi/Ronaldo/Suarez includes Aguero, Hazard, Benzema, Zlatan, Rooney (in his prime).

Each of those players have individually carried title-winning attacks. Is Sturridge that good? I don't think he is - he can be moody, drifts out of games, and struggles a bit when he plays as a lone striker.

He could get there of course if he can stay fit. The trouble is that even if he stays fit, he's already 26. And he's a player who relies a lot on his acceleration. So I'd say he has about a 2-3 year window to establish himself in that second tier .

If he does, we'll come close to winning a title again IMO.

I doubt he can though - he's too brittle.

I think he is that good. Also we have never scrutinized players like Benzema to the extent we have Sturidge. All of those players have had better support casts. If Sturridge remains injury free and if we surround him with better players and a decent defense, he will fire us to the title.

I agree that he is every bit as good as those players.

Robinho was more of a striker .. .Kaka was ok until he left Milan (27)
