According to twitter twatter, Tony Barrett is reporting in the times that FSG want Kenny to return in his ambassadorial role.

It's not right talking about young talent and using the word sexy. Have we learned nothing from the Jimmy Saville affair?

"You're not good enough to be manager but please come back and be our mascot again"

Kenny's a big person (figuratively speaking) but he's not that big.

I'm all for having former players/coaches to be in involved as much as possible in the club setup.

I read an interesting interview with Maldini and this is what he had to say on the downfall of Milan.

"Slowly, the magic is being lost and Milan have transformed into an absolutely normal club. That’s because Milan stopped transmitting that message and those who had written the history of the club stopped teaching their knowledge to the next generation.

There is nobody in the current Milan set-up who wrote history, other than those in marginal roles,” added the 44-year-old.

“Look at Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, who had directors like Beckenbauer, Hoeness, Rummenigge, Butragueno, Gallego and Valdano. This magic can be carried on and taught by those who experienced and even created it.

Milan had the magic for 25 years, but then lost it. In all honesty, I can’t see what their plans are.

Choosing certain players, even if they are on free transfers, look a world away from a specific plan.

I don't think he'll come back in any capacity. Just have a feeling Dalglish feels once bitten twice shy, perhaps. It'll be another egg on the faces of the FSG people too.

Oliver Kay was on a webchat yesterday and he mentioned that after 2 years, their (FSG) to-do list still hasn't budged and that it seems that they're doing their best to not do anything. Ian Ayre being overloaded with more than he can chew is something they have still yet to address too.

It is clearly a different role. After seeing Rodgers in the transfer market they are bringing in Kenny to take charge of new signings 😉

I heard that they fell out, burned bridges etc. I'm not surprised he hasn't been at Anfield much since he was fired.

I think it's far too soon for Kenny to return, it would risk undermining Rodgers - he needs a chance to grow his reputation first.

I'd like to see Kenny back and would be up for it now if we had taken on one of the bigger management names we were linked with over the summer.

I wonder even if Kenny feels he is ready to come back. No one bigger than the club etc. but his pride has to still be smarting a bit.

I hope Ryan doesn't stoop to some cheap gibe in this thread, particularly as he always tries to claim his attacks on Dalglish are purely about tactics and nothing personal.
