Buy Britton!

If you were about to interview someone named Leon Britton, would you be expecting

Him?

That expression suggests, a la Alan Bennett, he's just realised that the young boy sucking him off is actually a chiropody student from Richmond Polytechnic rather than, as he had hoped, 'a Hungarian truck driver, fresh from driving his juggernaut across the motorways of Europe and to hell with the environment'.

Two points spring to mind on these stats.

First, I'm amazed that Arteta gets so involved in games - I never really felt he got so involved so as to be one of the most prolific passers in the league.

Second and most damning, Mikel is one of the most accurate passers going around in the league. Surely that fact alone will call into question the relevance of this stat.

I suspect it will simply cos Swansea are linked with midfielders constantly. Maybe once they get a replacement they'll allow us to start talks.

Rumours on Twitter that It's a 10million bid plus Shelvey on loan. Which actually makes a lot of sense. I really like Shelvey though.

I don't think it's a good idea at all. We've got Europa League games, domestic cup games and the league.
Shelvey will get his fare share of games. Although a loan move wouldn't be a complete disaster.
In the end it depends on who stay and who goes.

I'm a huge Shelvey fan but I think a year of regular Premier League football for a team who play a similar style of football to us could do wonders for him.

For those more knowledgable than I, how similar are Allen and Suso?

From what I can tell Allen tends to play more disciplined role, keeping the ball moving quickly and breaking up play. Suso has often been given a bit more license to drift deep then get forward. However, I do think the purchase of Allen is likely to keep Suso a little further from a starting place.

Agreed, I'd sooner give them Spearing on loan, if we bring Allen in, I can't see Spearing getting that much game time as Lucas and Allen will provide a bit of steel in the middle, with Henderson competing. If Gerrard get's injured, we've got no one as cover.
