i read today that Genoa are only offering us 3mil for him, we should try push it up to atleast 4
it was rumoured we accepted £3.3M + add-ons from Fiorentina so I guess this is about right, assuming the Genoa offer has an additional add-on structure for appearances/success.

I presume Figeuroa will be bought fairly soon so. Kelly can then cover RB wit Fabio coverig LB.
Once we have the mash cash it'll be all systems go.
Surely the Benayoun and Insua cash will cover the fee for Figeura.
The benayoun cash was used to cover paying off Benitez.
Their is also monies available from the sale of Riera

What i read didnt say anything about add ons or future incentives. it just had a 3mil offer for him.

It has been reported by Click Liverpool that we have accepted a bid of 4,5 mill £. Could be 3mill + add ons though.

Getting him of the wage list and getting something for him is the main thing, he can leave for free next summer.

Genoa’s proposed swoop for Liverpool’s Emiliano Insua may have collapsed, according to reports in Italy.

The Marassi outfit took an interest in the left-back when the player’s transfer to Fiorentina was called off.

Despite agreeing terms with the Premiership club, the Viola could not find a compromise with the player’s agent over his wage demands.

Now whispers coming out of Genoa today claim that the Rossoblu are having the same difficulties.

It’s alleged that the Argentine has requested a three-year deal worth €2m a season, figures which President Enrico Preziosi is unlikely to match.

It’s believed that Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino offered Insua around €800,000 a campaign.

Based on this latest article, Insua wants 42k euros/wk but Fiorentina offered 17k euros/wk.

Why doesnt he just get the hint that he is NOT WANTED at our club. So politely, just fuck off insua
Maybe he's just as thick-skinned as you Zlatan....

Zlatan, nobody wants you on this website, but you're still here, and we don't pay you *anything*
Because i like pissing off cunts like you 🙂

We´re stuck with his fat ass.

Come on Genoa and Palermo- save us from Insua and Lucas!

Crouch and Poulsen 'done deals' and now this. Fuck, what a depressing day.
Hopefully the "done deals" in are as sure as the "done deals" out.

As reported before by FootballPress, rumours having Argentinian left backwing Emiliano Insua (21) about lo leave Liverpool and join Genoa revealed themselves to be true: with English club in agreement with the player to move, Italian executives are about to meet Insua's entourage in order to define the few details missing.

From yesterday, maybe there is still hope for this transfer.

Apparently Genoa aren't willing to cough up £30k/week either. Apparently Fiorentina would only stretch to 12k/week!
This is useless. Why-o-why are we even hoping that a club would be so stupid to give him a 30k/week?
So what shall we do fat ass this season? Play him when Aurelio is injured or let him rot in the reserves?

If we got into next season with Insua and Aurelio as our LB's, after trying to offload both of them, I think I'll cry.

It's 30k a month, which means he's on 7.5k a week.
We didn't try to offload both though, Rafa offered Fab a 'pay as you play' choice, similar to what Owens on at Old Toilet, which Fab declined.

I guess I'm the only one who would be sad to see Insua go. I'd be very happy to keep him as 2nd/3rd choice if we had a first choice LB who could stay reasonably fit.
How many second string, 21 year old LB's are anywhere near as good as this lad?

I still find it strange how he has become roundly regarded as shit.

We had a poll on SCM earlier this year and 84 posters voted. Here are the results.

Shit - 3 (3.6%)
Not good enough for LFC, and never will be - 10 (11.9%)
Squadie at best - 16 (19%)
Potential first team regular - 46 (54.8%)
Potentially world class - 9 (10.7%)

The kid has played about 10 games since that poll. Was he really that horrendous in those 10 games to turn opinions of him around so sharply?

It seems everyones deems him a fat useless cunt these days. It's almost become fashionable.

Good post, MM.

Personally I've been consistent with my views on Insua since he broke into the side and voted 'Squaddie at best' in that poll. Problem is, whilst Aurelio is here, back-up LB can very easily turn to first choice LB, and he isn't good enough for that.

He's got to go.

Fair play. Some posters such as you, Judge Jules and Brendan have always deemed him as not good enough.

Personally, I think he'll be considered in the top 10 in his position within the next 5 years.
