For real.

The "how hard is it to do a deal?!!" posts are my favourites.

"Just offer them the money!!!"

Yep, people who act like its some sort of computer game. "I offered 20% more than the value on FIFA and that got him, ergo it should work in real life"

I've been pulled up a couple of times for using the the champ manager jibe on people so I've kind of stopped it, but I still think it's relevant. People have been sucked in to believe that real life could be as easy as some computer programme.

I guess ridiculing the people making posts alarmed by this is easier than accepting that REPEATED failures in the transfer market are worrying.
Im not saying its easy at all.
Im saying we pay the likes of Ayre MILLIONS to make it look easy.
He does not.

The sad thing is his mistakes on the football side have obscured his phenomenal success on the commercial side. Whether you like the bloke or not - and I don't - you have to acknowledge he's transformed the club in terms of its commercial clout, and deserves massive credit for doing so. That's what makes it all the more exasperating that he's still also being used as the top man in all things football. He isn't suited to the job, he's making a mess of it and he needs to be left to concentrate on what he actually does well.

That's a little unfair mate. Just because I've ridiculed people for hysterics and for making life sound like a computer programme does not mean I accept mistakes in the transfer market.

It simply means that if people can't grasp the concept that it's not black and white then they're probably not likely to understand that just cos I don't get hysterical about a point, it doesn't mean I accept the status quo.

At least you give an decent opinion Spion, its the posters that ridicule without ever offering an opinion that are the real bellends.

Fair do's.
I think whilst we accept it ISNT an easy process. The people we pay handsomely are supposed to make it happen. Thats their job.
And they KEEP messing it up.

What really annoys me is the impression that we've swung from one extreme to another in terms of what we'll pay for players. For me the really glaring issue was never overpaying for players but going for the wrong ones in the first place. It's so frustrating seeing us now picking out really promising targets time after time but failing to get the deals done.

Now it may be that that's a mistaken impression and that we've genuinely been unlucky 5 times in a row but I can't help feeling there must be more to it than that.
